Indeed! Joseph Bennett (PD) did an incredible job in everyway. Even though it's a "spaceship", it has this Wagnerian opera layering of "hell" all over it - my favourite one being the shapes of the UPPER CORRIDORS and DOORWAYS, shaped like COFFINS.

Todd Cherniawsky, ADG, IDSA

The production design is spectacular. God. Beautiful. This looks like they put a lot of effort and money into this.

Nice reaction vid to this great movie. Thanks for that. Had to become a Patreonee after your great YouTube reaction videos. Cheers!

GARY THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW!! Oh man I was like… I should get to the outro… if I wasn’t recording I would have jammed along to that for a while!!

Kat

LOL HE IS A SWEET BOY. Plus we have an agreement that he doesn’t attack me while I’m distracted👀

Kat

RUE!! This must have been UNREAL to see in theatres. That part where the lights went out… I WANTED TO LOOK AWAY SO BADLY. I almost made the thumbnail that green sequence because for me it was one of the scariest parts!! Oh man when he was like WE’RE GETTING OUT OF HERE I thought I LOVE THIS GUY!!! So sad the footage was lost. Man oh man!

Kat

Good stuff Kat! "Somebody needs to oil the doors on this ship"... my favorite line. Credits song is some sort of remix of the Beastie Boys - Funky Sh*t by the Prodigy

Gary Payton

I just noticed the doll behind you in the corner. Looks like it could totally be haunted!!! Just something to think about while you enjoy these movies!!!

I got to see this in the theaters and it was such an incredible experience. The scene where Weir goes into the access panel was so cool to see in person - just surrounding you with green and gold... and then all the lights go out lol Believe it or not, there was actually a much more graphic cut of the film that existed, but they had to get it down below an NC-17 in order to go to theaters. It's mostly stuff from the 'DO YOU SEE?!' sequence towards the end, with the horrific visions Weir gives Miller. Those bits got cut but the footage was unfortunately lost because of a fire, iirc and there's no way to restore it. :( And I know a lot of people have their favorite spaceship captains and their favorite crews, but the crew of the Lewis & Clark are still my favorite spaceship team of all time - yeah, even over and above Ripley and the Nostromo crew! Miller is a magnificent captain and everybody on his team not only knows what they're doing, but they're really really good at what they're doing, too. Coop's definitely my favorite, though.

The moment this was posted was the moment my previous plans for this evening disappeared. Priorities matter.

Heh. Took a "long lunch" instead.

You have to know that at some point in the development of the ship and the gravity drive, somebody had to stop and ask him, "Hey, Doc, does everything really need to be quite so eldritch and spinny/slicey/spikey? I mean, sure, it's cool, but it's also pretty much a giant OSHA violation waiting to happen. Maybe we could go with some smooth surfaces instead. You know, some cushioned spots. Maybe some pastels would be nice."

Awesome movie and reaction! I saw this in the theater with a friend when it first came out. We were too young to get in ourselves so we went with my friend's brother. It was pretty damn scary, lol

Ooooo. Can't wait till I get off work.
