It's so heartbreaking to watch Olivia's light dim and her love for her children be used against her. If only she knew she would become part of the darkness out to get them.

I thought she watched them die a slow death, especially going back to Poppy’s monologue of how she watched her daughter breathe in water (Pneumonia or TB) but once her body could no longer compensate the disease, it went pretty fast, which is consistent with dying of those diseases. I can’t remember how she told the story of her son, I thought he was struck with Polio, but could be wrong, I’m unsure if she killed him or how she described his death, but I got the sense that once they weren’t suffering any longer, and she was alive herself, because it’s said she lived it old age, she could see them happy and healthy, therefore she figured death was them waking up to the selves she envisioned her kids wanting, being happy and healthy. Could be completely wrong though. Love your insight though, it makes sense.

2024-08-12 22:34:23 +0000 UTCMost people think as Poppy was insane she killed her children. I think she did kill them but in a twisted 'saving' them way. Her daughter had pneumonia and her son had polio by the sounds of it. Thats why she was telling OLivia to do the same. A sick kind of 'it's better for them. '
