Hope you continue down the Flanagan rabbit hole. Midnight Mass, Bly Manor, Fall of the House of Usher,... all amazing and have such rich story lines and meaning. Love the reaction vids.

2024-09-15 20:18:13 +0000 UTCI'm of the camp that thinks Flanagan made an almost perfect show with this one and nothing he's done in TV since has quite reached its level. Bly Manor has a lot of the same actors and has some great emotional moments but it didn't really work for me. Midnight Mass has some great emotional punch but I started to notice when the characters are monologuing and it felt like the writer was talking instead of the characters some times. House of Usher was fairly forgettable but well made. The Midnight Club is probably his second or third best (depending on where you put Midnight Mass) but that one didn't get renewed so it has some loose ends in it. I would recommend his film Hush which stars Theo's actress and the original 1960s version of The Haunting which is based on the same material as this show. But Flanagan set the bar so high with this that it's hard for me to pick one better as much as I like to watch whatever he does. Great reaction. Great show.
