YAYYYY you watched a New Zealand horror movie!! This is set in Wellington which is where I live! I have to tell you that the city no longer looks like this, it is indeed set in the 1950s. Wellington no longer has trams, so you are quite right, the trams in this movie are models created by Peter Jackson himself just because he LOOOOOVES this stuff. However, most of the creatures and zombies in this film were created by Richard Taylor and his partner Tania Rodger who are the creative geniuses behind the Weta Workshop. They are now world famous due to their work with Peter Jackson on Lord of the Rings and you can tour their workshop here in Wellington and see the Sumatran Rat Monkey! I think you would approve of Richard and Tania, Kat. Apparently, Richard gave Tania rats early on in their romance and she loved having them hang out on her shoulders and hide in her hair. This movie definitely has a very Kiwi sense of humour, mixing the boring and everyday with the fantastical and bizarre. If you enjoyed this please watch The Frighteners - another Peter Jackson movie that also stars Michael J. Fox. A Canadian in a Kiwi horror movie! How can you NOT?
