Godzilla Minus One Full Length Reaction

I went through an entire box of tissues.

Also, the ticking clock in the OST during the ocean scenes is so wild... the details in this movie are unreal

I synced this up to Netflix using the Chrome extension Reactify-- if anyone else would like to try using the extension (it's new & usermade, so install & use at your own judgment), the sync should now be saved & automatically load for everyone!

This is my first time watching this. I liked this as much as I did the original, and that doesn't happen very often.

If you liked G -1, highly recommend The Host (2006), a S. Korean monster movie from Bong Joon Ho (Parasite, Mickey 17, Snowpiercer)

This is honestly my favorite reaction video of yours, Kat. And also my favorite reaction to this movie I’ve yet seen (and I’ve seen several reactions online). I’m so glad you liked the movie. This, and the original 1954 Japanese version of Gojira, are the two BEST Godzilla movies ever made, and I’ve seen (and own) every single one of them. Bless your heart, Kat. Love from David & April.

This version and the original are my favorite Godzillas! Amazing what the filmmakers achieved with a $15M budget, winning a Best Achievement in Visual Effects Oscar to boot. And Kat you did catch strains of the original score that were re-used here. The human stories did really tug at the heart strings. I had to have this Blu-ray as soon as possible and ordered it at godzilla.com, receiving it before the US release--it was the Japanese version! Of course I could not read any of the packaging materials. ;-) As mentioned by HeyHeyJK the version I received also included the B&W version as an homage to the original. Kat, one thought is that the stuff on Noriko's neck at the end are some 'G cells' transferred from the blast that swept her away, and helped her heal (like the big guy heals). This could provide a bridge to a part 2 film. Go take a walk now; you've earned it!

That was so far from a failed outro. Compared to pretty much every other Godzilla movie, and most movies in general, this one hits you in the heart because you absolutely don’t expect it from this genre. And the writing is so good and the story is so good and the characters are so great so … not a failed outro at all. Seeing this in IMAX when it first came out was amazing because the sound system was so loud and you could feel every roar and every explosion and every stomp and it was such a great experience. There’s also a black-and-white version of this that I’ve seen that’s really good which they did mostly just to honor the original. Great reaction, yet again, Kat!
