Ohhh dude, like, so much of the first couple seasons was dedicated to Jaune, it sucked there are a good few points early where it feels like he's the main character. and even post her death, it usually was centered around him. At the beginning of season 4 all the characters like get upgrades, and they had been caring pyrrha's armor around and i thought they were going to break it up between all the characters, like, as the first person they really lost together and all that, but nope, it was just all melted down to create new armor for him smh

And, at least from what people were saying, it felt like the only narrative purposes her death served were to show how scary and badass the villains are and act as a foil for Juan's narrative. While I can to some degree forgive the villains thing, I've always hated when the story kills off a cool, interesting heroine for the sake of some dude's character development.

This looks like the moment of reflection when the answer to the question "do you believe in destiny?" becomes clear

I was already behind on RWBY when I heard they killed Pyrrha, and it kinda wrecked my motivation to get caught up, I'm afraid.
