Somehow I didn’t know your Twitter account changed. Anyway keep doing what you’re doing and take care of yourself 💚

The answer is very good and I understand the creator sentiment side, I didn't know about the reddit bot and was more of Netflix adding a speed up/slow down button and I agree you shouldn't actively tell creators how you watch their content. I only do it for times I can't handle something sensory wise in terms of speed or just listening

As an aside, I really should do more to make my videos accessible. I'm going to put some money into paying subtitlers and translators and so on when patreon hits a comfortable level

Basically I think as a creator you put a lot of love and passion and effort into your work, and it can be really wounding to hear that people consume it in a way that might imply they don't care (sped up or only listening no visuals). I think it's pretty easy to understand why that would feel bad to hear about and what I rarely see is sympathy for that perspective - why it might be hurtful to tell a creator that you don't watch their videos they way they want.
There is obviously a creator-viewer power dynamic which is worth considering but it isn't necessarily useful in all cases, and I think this is one-such case. A creator having an audience, or power or wealth doesn't make it less emotionally distressing for them to hear that, right?
On the other hand, it's obviously hurtful to hear a creator say a sort of "fuck you" to anyone who doesn't watch their videos a certain way, whether that's tied into disability or just personal preference (although it's obviously worse with ableism)
That's why my position, after some consideration, is "do what you like and don't tell me". If there is a change I need to make to my content for certain disabled audience members, they should tell me, but otherwise it isn't something I need to know. Nobody is doing anything wrong by watching my videos double speed or just listening to them. I do think they're missing out if they don't watch the visuals, and so for example the reddit bot that converts videos into podcasts is, imo, reflective of a pretty sad way of consuming media, BUT they aren't doing anything wrong.
I try not to make any generalised "fuck you"s to people who don't consume my content in different ways because of this, and because of the ableist undertones as you've pointed out. I try to only target my frustration at specific things like that reddit bot - it's clearly been created not for people with a disability but for redditors who want everything to be a podcast so they can listen at the gym or what-have-you. I won't say I dislike people watching my videos on double speed, and then basically in return nobody will have any reason to tell me that they watch my videos on double speed, unless they think there's an actual thing I should change about my content.
I hope that's a helpful answer

An example for me and my partner is Shaun, we like his videos but if my partner doesn't speed the videos up they can't keep track of video because of how slow he talks (ADHD and Autistic) and me well his voice isn't very sensory friendly to me so I speed it up to warp his voice to something my ears won't get hurt (Autistic). P.S. I can't remember his views in the discourse but it's an example you know

How do you feel about artist intended viewing and disability and the medium of videos? The whole discourse was long ago and some people held some kinda ableist views, now not all of them probably thought about it very well but it left a sour taste that a lot of creators I follow just kinda said fuck people who don't watch my videos the way I want it? They could've been joking as well but I'm autistic and I don't get sarcasm very well

It sad that I had a question but never asked cause it felt too long like it would probably require its own video but could also have a simple answer, you get me? Anyway still great work
