Certain perspectives get minimised. There is a reason certain types of people use the euphemism "get the story straight" A great deal of how modernity happens is pretty actively diminished. Especially the psychic burdens, so you get whitewashing retelling the story in ways erases who bore the burdens. Those who've migrated from those areas know. Kinda fascinating to hear certain types of stories knowing exactly where it came from. A big part of why I like etymology as a hobby.

Things happen, ordinal or not and then we record. in recording we prioritize some & not the others.. Imagine what's happening in the entire world in a single day.....it's almost impossible. History is all the days before this one, so it's necessarily reductive. Narrativizing That further reduces it. In a way, we'll never truly understand it. It's a living, evolving thing/field of study.
