"I love you it's ruining my life." They fell out of love but what they had was enough for her to act out/derail her life. I think the "her" is past Taylor's and all her insecurities/toxic behaviors learned in past relationships. ("maybe it was her" and then later...."maybe it's the past that's talking; swinging from the crypt; Telling me to punish you for things you never did") At least in this song, I think she believes she took out her insecurities on Joe. She notably gets a SENSE she's been betrayed in the HAZE which is vague in vague, possibly or probably not even real. ("so I justified it") Until he "looked up at her with honor and TRUTH" "You said I have to trust more freely" "it was war it wasn't fair" I think the war is present Taylor vs past Taylor vs Joe. And it's her saying she's put the past to bed and is ready to move forward from it.

I think Fortnight is Taylor looking down the road she was on and realizing that if she didn't TNT her relationship woth Joe, they would literally stay together and be miserable forever. He'd be cheating, they'd be stepford wife-ing (pretending everything was ok), shes be forever remembering that fling she had years ago and wondering what if.

I want you to know I somehow found myself in a pointless online back and forth with some delulu member of the fandom trying to explain to them why Fresh Out The Slammer & The Alchemy are NOT about Travis. Despite my appeals to logic, my gentle coddling demeanor, and the evidence laid before them including lyrical analyses, vinyl pressing timelines, and that we pretty much know that FOTS was recorded in December 2022, I’m sad to say they ended our back and forth with that’s just your opinion so we must agree to disagree. Sylvia died on a Monday in February and apparently there’s a poem that references watering flowers. Famously her husband cheated. Interesting!
