(Uncensored Video) Ambition vs. Restraint: A Deep Dive into Miley Cyrus and Addison Rae
Added 2025-06-26 12:20:57 +0000 UTCMiley’s a legacy act in flux. Addison’s a newcomer who might actually get it. In this episode, we break down two very different pop albums from two very different artists: Miley Cyrus’s "Something Beautiful" and Addison Rae’s debut "Addison." We dig into the critical response, the commercial fallout, the production choices, and the cultural weight (or lack thereof) of both records. Is Miley trying too hard to be taken seriously? Is Addison… kind of a genius?

2025-06-28 01:53:01 +0000 UTCComparing Addison and Miley is interesting, especially since Addison could have grown up watching Hannah Montana. I also don’t think too many people over the age of 25 have any idea who she is. She has a long way to go before becoming any sort of pop star.

2025-06-27 05:18:52 +0000 UTCI love you guys but I think you should have done a bit more research before speaking on miley! It's not that she doesn't want to promote, she has a vocal injury that prevents her from speaking and singing too much! She's spoken about it in several interviews. With love ❤️

2025-06-27 01:04:23 +0000 UTCAlso, I saw in interviews that she wanted the film to be something that people get up and dance and sing to - like Bey and Taylor’s films. It was crickets until people stated hesitantly clapping at the end. I can’t tell you how many people came in after the film started (super fucking annoying btw). How are people going to be invested like this when there is this HUGE disconnect between you and your art?? Now, I don’t want to drag her because I know Miley has health issues that prevent her from touring but there is no sense of interaction with the people that are interested with her art. It was honestly a little odd to me.

2025-06-26 22:38:58 +0000 UTCI went to the Miley Cyrus film premiere. I like Miley a lot, I’ve always been a fan and I did like her new album. Every girl you’ve ever loved is AMAZING, I couldn’t stop playing it! But, i thought the film would tie it all together and make it pop. When I tell you that the film was literally just an hour of posing… I’m not lying. Actually, after watching the film I haven’t streamed the album at all! It made the album seem extremely surface level to me. The most interesting part of the film was the easy lover INTERLUDE. Did she look great? Yeah, of course. She even said it herself that the bulk of the project budget was spent on her outfits. I love to watch her perform on stage and Kiki on how great she looks and sounds for a few minutes but I don’t feel enticed to stick around and dive deeper into her music because there’s nothing for me to take away! She seems detached from her art because she knows that she is a product (I do not view her as a product but she has stated this in multiple interviews). I also think it’s interesting that most child star turned pop stars are constantly trying to rewrite their personality. Whenever a new era comes, they claim that everything before that was never who they were and this new project is really THEM. Then it happens all over again. It feels uncomfortable to connect with artists that are constantly re writing themselves. I absolutely loved Plastic Hearts but now I feel weird after hearing how miserable Miley feels about it. She also said that ‘Younger Now’ was basically her pretending to be someone else. That doesn’t create a great retrospective discography listen. Actually, it makes me not want to go back and listen at all. Notice how the top dogs in the game don’t do this? They accept the past phases of their lives. They accept their past work.

2025-06-26 18:26:03 +0000 UTCMiley needs a better songwriter. She glows singing covers of other people's songs. Maybe Dolly can write her up something. It just feels like she has nothing specific to say or share and she's enjoying the fashion and visuals maybe more than the actual music.

2025-06-26 17:46:50 +0000 UTCAnthony Fantano is absolutely misogynistic. I’ve been watching his reviews since probably 2013, and he has just gotten progressively worse over time.

2025-06-26 16:37:39 +0000 UTCI don’t hear Madonna’s Ray of Light on Addison’s record at all.

2025-06-26 16:17:41 +0000 UTCI love Something Beautiful. I think it’s her best yet but I respect your guys’ opinions.

2025-06-26 16:08:43 +0000 UTCAddison’s gonna need more time to cook. She might be off to a good start but her sophomore album, she’s gonna have to prove herself

2025-06-26 16:08:02 +0000 UTCI love that you brought up how whimsical Addison is!! That's exactly what I thought and why I love it so much. The world needs more whimsy. 🫶
