2025-08-09 19:06:16 +0000 UTCmaybe I was just projecting because I had wanted to fall in love with taylor for a long time and low-key succeeded when I heard delicate, but then I heard other songs off of rep and was so confused. I remember loving call it what you want though. then, I heard me and you need to calm down and was even more confused and just didn't really take her seriously (sorry...). I did check out some random lover songs and enjoyed some of them such as death by a thousand cuts and i think he knows, but the overall album just didn't click with me fully. also, to this day I don't like the production on most of the songs on lover. and as for 1989 taylor, I just didn't like her, she seemed cocky and unapproachable and like a barbie doll - at least to a non-fan who was not in the lore, who didn't know anything... her public persona did not make me want to find out more about her, even though I did enjoy some of the 1989 singles. also, i remember it was hard placing taylor's eras as a non-fan. i'd listen to a song from one album and then to a song from another album as recommended by YouTube and it was a bit confusing to speak my truth, I didn't fully get the eras and what was going on. i guess, I just had a really hard time finally falling in love with Taylor for real and it just so happened that it was during folklore, because on that album I just went on a journey with her throughout the entire record. i'm not someone who's into indie artists especially, though, so so that was not it for me. but she seemed more down to earth and more focused on her feelings and less on other stuff. anyway, now i'm a stan and i wouldn't want it any other way :)
