I like the layered production and the whole vibe-y music but I agree with what you said. I think there's too much autotune on some songs, I can't understand the lyrics, sometimes his voice doesnt really fit the song. I dont know. Maybe we just haven't heard good male pop music and the bar is on the floor and that's why this seems good to some people?

I'm gonna keep it real here. Boring album. The mumbling isn't doing it for me. Can't even decipher most of the lyrics. Barely any memorable melodies, and if there are they are inconsistent. This is just a vibes album because it would make no difference if he was singing about covid or hailey, wouldn't be able to tell.

With the way Justin has been portrayed by the media lately, along with his distance from sc**ter, it really seems like *someone* is out to ruin his reputation. Smear campaign?? Especially his relationship with Hailey, maybe bc it’s low hanging fruit since so many ppl are still hung up on the jelena of it all. Although many clips of Justin & Hailey interacting are quite odd this album really makes me believe they’re stronger as a couple than the media wants us to think. Bravo honestly to him for not referencing Selena at all. Pretty good fuck you to anyone who’s praying on the downfall of his marriage. Not that I’m not here for Jelena mess 🫣 but unless something ACTUALLY happens with that, I hope Justin and Hailey make it through, if not only for the sake of their child!

I'm not happy to say this, but this album is giving me Frank Ocean Blonde vibes, with the voice changing and a lot of his intonations just hit the same. Definitely agree with SZA as well. But there's also something distinctly Bieber about it. Devotion sounds like a Dijon song.

His musical journey very much resembles Ariana’s to me… both have been chasing mainstream pop stardom and sound while under the Evil Man’s management… and now, that they’re free, both have found their way back to their original artistic roots - a much more authentic, creative , and expressive style. Swag does have a lot of SZA influence, but when I heard these layered vocals and the creative production, I immediately thought of Eternal Sunshine. So glad to have our ARTISTS back🫶🏽🫶🏽

My first experience listening to a Justin Bieber album was through a reaction video by Zach. Personally, I don't plan on listening to more of his music. I didn’t check the track lengths, but it felt like every song went on forever, just repeating the same two sentences over and over. It worries me that creating such incredibly simple lyrics and arrangements took so many writers.

So here’s my theory and thoughts… this IS Justin’s sound. Agree 💯 with you on that!! It’s exciting to hear! This isn’t Jack Ü, DJ snake, or the label. It was however thrown together quickly and I think he’s capitalizing on the timing of everything going on around him right now. Nothing wrong with that! I enjoy chaos 😆 Writing this album and spending time in the studio seemed to be the “floatation raft” he needed to work through a lot of issues. He’s a deeply troubled individual and I hope to see him get better. I’m glad he’s being creative & hoping his “detox” is real? Bc yeah it’s been sad to see the progression. I was a little too old for that belieber nonsense in the early 2010s but watching him grow as a performer has been amazing. He’s got so much talent. But I’m afraid he is not surrounded by the best people… but he’s been waking up for sometime now. It can be traumatic once you’re eyes really see what’s going on. Wish him the best.
