wait i am listening to this episode again bc i love it so much but the person doing 2 full time jobs— this isn’t what anyone likes to hear, but i would spend my free time 1) similar to what yall said, figuring out my end goal and 2) looking for a career/job that will spare my having to work like a race horse. after college, i didn’t know what i would do bc i majored in English and didn’t want to go straight to law school. i started working full time as a paralegal making not enough to live but i was also working at target on the weekends— it was utterly exhausting, but that was started like 2 years ago and a lot of careers like being a paralegal, you can work your way up in less than 2 years and make enough to live on your own. being a paralegal doesn’t even require any sort of degree most of the time, you just work your way up. i stopped working at target on the side about a year in and it saved my mental health but i think a long term solution is figuring out a job you could do that would spare you from having to do multiple jobs and what it takes to get to a place where that job can sustain you full time or how to get from where you are to the room you want to be in.
