2024 Projects: Progress

The state of my projects. I'm very close to finishing Brute Force 1, which I'm finally getting done. I had a weird phobia of this project after some bad reviews on Royal Road, but I've finally gotten over myself and am plugging 2500 words a day on it.

There's actually quite a bit more of Archemi 7 draft than is on this spreadsheet right now, but I haven't included it because it's all rough and fragmented. I'm a messy writer; especially in the beginning of a book, I tend to write a bunch of disconnected scenes and false starts that I then either discard, revise, or stitch together. That's part of why I'm not a regular Patreon updater when I'm drafting - I'd be retconning every other chapter I posted. But once they're done and in order, they tend to be close to the final product.

Production order is as follows:

- BF 1 by end of 2023, sent to Soundbooth for production in audio before publishing. No ebook or paperback until that's done, but I'll serialize it on Patreon.

- Archemi 7 ebook by end of March, audio a few months after that depending on Justin Thomas James' and Laurie Catherine Winkel's schedules.

- Brute Force 2 done by end of May.

Brute Force 1 & 2 will be published a month apart, probably around August. I'm hoping the Archemi 7 audiobook will be done around then, too, but Soundbooth are busy folks, so we'll see.

I'd really like to get two Archemi books out in 2024. I'm going to give it my best.

Voidhunter: Lightbringer and Voidhunter: Harbinger are my weekend projects. I'll be writing the first three books of Lightbringer (The Black Garden, The Darksome River (Tuonela), and Ghost Chasing Dog) and rewriting the first three Harbinger books (Black Sun, Stained Glass, Zero Sum). My hope is to release all of these in the second half of 2025, one after the other. Lightbringer is science-fantasy, Harbinger is urban fantasy. The two series are linked, set in the same metaverse and with characters that intersect in mysterious ways.

Archemi 9, the final book in the series, should be out early 2025. After that... well, that's a surprise :3
