We just missed the London film festival screening of Hamlet, the 2025 film version with Joe Alwyn. Not to be confused with Hamnet, a 2025 movie with Joe Alwyn about Shakespeare losing his son Hamnet then writing Hamlet. Given the long lead time on films perhaps that is why Taylor had Ophelia on the brain?

No one talks about this being a tayvis song but I am a full and complete believer in it idc. I think it depends on which aspects of their relationship Taylor wants to speak of. I think in regards to this album she was very much la la la ki ki about their relationship which led to a lot of very bland generic lyrics. However I think if she wants to mine deep she can come up with the better material. And I think we will see that on the next record.
