How to Tap into Your Dominant Side

As we discussed in our terminology course, being the dominant party in a BDSM relationship is held to the highest regard. You are the one setting the scene, the dominance, the terms of play, etc. You are the point of trust for your submissive partner, in which they have relinquished their power to you.
While being dominant can find easy fir some, it’s not always that way with everyone. I tapped into my dominant side later in life, even though I knew I always had the qualities in me.
What are the personal qualities?
- You love being in charge
- You demand control when you enter a space
- You love to be served and worshipped
- You take interest in being a sadist, a nurturer, or a top in relationships
There are also more serious, technical qualities when it comes to wanting to be dominant:
- You honor the boundaries and take notice of the needs of your submissive
- You want to genuinely get to know your submissive partner, beyond a kinky scene
- You should always want to learn more about being a Dom/Domme (studying, attending workshops, etc)
- Safety is a major element of a relationship for you
- You agree that there should be some level of negotiation in a BDSM relationship
Dominance does not always equal yelling, beating, saying mean things, etc. These are all common stereotypes. You can be nurturing and dominant, sensual and dominant, or sadistic and dominant (you can even be all 3!)
It takes inner confidence to move as a Dominatrix or a Dom. Knowing what you’re doing can set the tone for great scene. You should be fulfilled with who you are at the end of the day.

I have always said, I’m a great Domme because I act out of love, not anger or spite. It didn’t click until I just read the above, is that I value being a nurturer.

2021-10-11 02:45:10 +0000 UTC"You can be nurturing and dominant, sensual and dominant..." I love this SO much, because I truly am nurturing & sensual...and my dominant side has been seen as a contradiction at times. I'm happy to explore BDSM because I can bring these realities into one place.
