RACEPLAY IN SW: DON’T DO IT

I know this will be a touchy course especially with the recents events these past couple of weeks. Trigger warning.

Raceplay is a topic that comes up often in BDSM and SW: as a Black person or person of color, should I participate in it or not? From my perspective, I wouldn’t recommend.

There have been instances in raceplay where the outcome is rarely ever positive, unless “reverse racism” play is used instead (as in black SWers receiving reparations from white subs/clients).

Prime example: I’ve had clients come to me saying “I want you to be my domme because you’re a black woman and I know black women are good at being angry.”

This person immediately gets blocked.

You don’t ever want to put yourself in a mental space where you feel like shit after a session because you decided to take on someone else’s kink. Black skin is not to be fetishized.

On the contrary, I applaud and do reparations work myself. This includes me telling white subs to do research reports on black history or to donate tributes to black funds or organizations. To me, this is acceptable.
