TIME MANAGEMENT IN SW
Added 2020-11-20 18:15:15 +0000 UTCIt's no secret that often times working in this industry can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to always be that way. To avoid stress and feelings of not being productive, it's best to learn how to manage your time in SW, no matter what part of the industry you are apart of. Here's a few tips:
1. Plan out your schedule
Whether you write it down or type it in your notes on your phone, plan out your content creation schedule. This can be planned by the day, week, or month. Prioritize what's most important: filming content? editing your website? reaching out to existing clients? Your priorities will be different and unique to you. If you're an organizer like myself, you can even plan things down to the hour, for example:
Monday:
9 AM - Check social media on any new updates, comments, follows, or bookings. Make a post on IG based on follower insights (what time majority of my followers are online). Check dating apps for interest or to reply to messages from potential SD's
10 AM - Edit any content filmed from the day before or week before; upload content teasers to Twitter and IG, full clips to OF
12 PM - 1 PM - Remember to have lunch while replying to client emails or subs who I have given tasks during the week
3PM - 5PM - Film new content or take new photos
After 5 PM, I try to not do anything SW related unless I have a session pre booked with a client. It's okay to take a break or look at things from a 9-5 scope
2. Plan content in advance
I've discussed this plenty of times before: instead of just filming one video in one outfit, do multiple videos in multiple outfits for content to post throughout the week. You maximize your productivity this way and stockpile content for future use.
3. Don't feel like you have to take on every client or message all at once
Be able to distinguish who's a time waster or not. You don't want to mentally burn yourself out by feeling like you have to reply to every sub, client, etc. When you are replying, make sure it's worth your while and not just random conversation. NEVER OVERBOOK YOURSELF IN ONE DAY. Trust me, I've tried this before and it was TOO MUCH. Trying to have 3 sessions back to back in one day can affect both your mental and physical. This isn't light hearted work. Remember that self care is still important.
4. Don't focus on what everyone else is doing
Comparison is a thief of joy. It's okay to log off when you think things are getting too much for you. Someone else's journey should not be compared to yours. YOUR JOURNEY MATTERS.

I try to take as many photos/videos as possible when I am in the mood and I try not to force myself to create content when I'm not in the mood. Also on OF, you can schedule your content to post automatically so you don't have to manually post for yourself, which has helped me to post new content everyday while saving me time & energy. Also, rest is soooo important too! Be easy on yourself when you're tired or not in the mood! You got this!<333

2021-03-11 03:11:28 +0000 UTCI personally only commit myself to posting once a week and I make that known on my OF. *New content every Sunday* If i get the energy to post more during the week, i will. But i never feel obligated to. Also, stockpiling content is such a time/energy saver. I do multiple scenes/outfits at once and only post 1 snippet or photo per week.
