GLOW UP TIPS: DOMME EDITION

This a topic that was suggested and one that I really want to touch base on. As you are exploring your journey as a Domme, whether lifestyle or professional, life is going to change. You're going to come into new experiences, new money, new crowds, and you're going to learn things about yourself that you'll have to become comfortable with. The glow up is NOT to be rushed, but best believe that it will come.

1. New Experiences

Of course, learning about BDSM is an experience all on its own. A lot of things will be new to you and you'll have to learn how to navigate what's for you and what isn't. These new experiences include sessions with clients, visiting dungeons for the first time, attending your first set of kinky parties, and learning how to navigate social media to build your brand and your audience. 

All of these things can seem overwhelming, which is why it's best to go at your own pace (I stress this a lot). Go into these experiences with an open mind, but also rid yourself of expectations as this is an unpredictable industry (especially since it deals so much with the psychology of things). BE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH ON EVERYTHING, from dungeons you're going to visit, to parties you want to attend. If you feel like there are so many things you want to do at once, try making a list and prioritize which things are most important to you at the time.

2. New Money

This industry is FAST money, which is good for most, but hard for those who may not know how to save or deal with the influx. When I first started out as a "baby Domme", I was spending the money as fast as I was receiving it. With anything in life regarding money, you have to be smart. You also have to realize that in this industry, money fluctuates. You could have a 1k day on Monday and then a $50 day on Tuesday. Remember, this isn't like a job with a steady paycheck. 

Setting money goals for the week and tracking your earnings can help you be responsible in this area. I usually use money tracking apps from Intuit, Acorns, Stripe, Etc. This helps me to see where my SW money is going (whether towards equipment, clothing, etc)

3. Networking

Networking in this industry is super beneficial, but needs to be done the correct way. Deciding who is worth networking with can be the biggest challenge. Usually when I network, I look at what we can trade off amongst each other. I also try to look at their presence and brand voice on social media: what do they stand for? who do they support? what kind of content do they produce? 

Just because someone jumps into your inbox for promo, networking, etc it doesn't mean you have to engage, especially if their content doesn't align with your own.  REMAIN AUTHENTIC TO YOURSELF, YOUR BRAND AND YOUR JOURNEY
