TRAVELING AS A DOMME

As a Pro Domme, there will come a time in your career/journey that you will end up traveling to other cities with interest in being booked for sessions in those cities. This can be fun, new, and adventurous, but it also can be overwhelming if you do not prepare properly ahead of time.

Here are some steps on how to travel safely and professionally as a Domme:

IF YOUR TRAVEL IS PERSONAL OR BOOKED FOR LEISURE:

1. Be sure to do extensive research on the city you're traveling to. This can be looking up dungeons in the area you might want to work at if you don't want to session out of your hotel or Air BNB. Go on Fetlife and search within 'Groups' to see if any play/kink parties or happening or if you can connect with other kinky people in the area.

2. Advertise your trip dates on social media. OF COURSE, never share what part of the city you'll be staying in nor should you share your itinerary for safety reasons. Usually I'll post "DC! I'll be in your area December 5 - December 9. All bookings must be made in advance through my website (insert website here). All subs must fill out an application before being considered for a session.

3. Pack your BDSM tools in a checked bag if possible. Yes, you can put it in your carry on, but most whips, floggers, etc hold a lot a weight and you don't want to be stuck at TSA having to get rid of some things. These tools are perfectly fine to travel with you.

4. Always bring business cards. You never know where you'll end up on your vacation, so have business cards ready. I usually create my own on vistaprint.com

5. If you're concerned about safety or security during a session, try to reach out to someone you may know in the city or look into hiring hourly security before you arrive. You want to make sure everything is set before you get there. You can include the security fee in your sub's final pricing if necessary

IF A SUB WANTS TO FLY YOU OUT FOR A SESSION:

1. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY. After you vet the sub through their application and other materials, make sure that you are booking everything in YOUR name; from flight or train tickets, to lodging. You never want to put yourself in a position where a sub cancels a ticket and you're stranded. Always be on guard and prepared.

2. Make sure you are traveling with enough money to get back home just in case of an emergency. Unless deposits have been sent, never rely on a sub's word (it's just common sense). You want to make sure that you have enough for emergency plane tickets, hotel changes, etc.

3. Be sure that you and the sub are clear on where you will be having session and the times it will happen. Booking protocol should be the same as if you were in your own hometown. Application should be filled out along with references, discussion of soft and hard limits, consent, etc
