BUSINESS AND CONTENT TIPS FOR 2022!

Happy New Year!

A new year means a new slate with fresh opportunities to improve and grow your business in the industry. A successful business is ran consistently and should always be promoted and marketed. In this industry, YOU are your brand, so you have to put even more work in to make it stand out vs if you were selling a regular retail product. The BDSM and SW industry is CONTENT DRIVEN and there are different niches to tap into, but also remember that there is a lot of competition out there with new creators popping up daily. 

Here are some tips to keep in mind for a successful year:

1. Keep your brand image consistent

Your brand image is apart of your personality, what you're selling, how you're selling it, and how you present yourself. For instance, my brand, Mistress Marley, is all about femininity, sensuality, pink aesthetics, no-nonsense, and luxury. When creating videos, images, websites, and graphics, I try to stick to these qualities. By doing this, you will create a "brand voice" for yourself that will resonate with current fans and future fans. For photo and video editing, I use the following free apps. You can upgrade and pay on these apps for more features, but it isn't necessary:

2. Make sure all of your links are in one place

Your fans should be able to find every website you are on all in one place. They shouldn't have to come to your social media and scroll forever to find other websites you are on. There are link hosting websites such as AllMyLinks and Linktree that are free and can house all of your links. Be sure to place this link in the bio of the social media page you use the most; for me, it's twitter. Example of my link tree: http://linktree.com/thechocolatedomme

3. Be intentional with your content creation

It's best when creating content to have a plan. Setting up the camera and stepping in front of it is well, but having a certain subject to film is even better. SPH, JOI, humiliation, domination, etc are all specific categories where you can add your content on clips sites. This way, when a fan comes to watch your content, they know what you provide and what they can get from watching your clips.

4. Stay firm with your business model

Never let a fan or client talk you down on your online content prices. Stick to your business model as you'll only be hurting yourself if you constantly lower your prices for rude fans or customers. Don't give attention to price hecklers - block and go works best here

5. If possible, invest in high quality cameras, phones, lighting, etc

Once I began shooting my content on a higher quality camera, I noticed an increase in my sales. Fuzzy videos and photos can be distracting and unattractive, repelling potential fans instead of bringing them in. There are also cheaper alternatives such as ring lights, box lights, and cheap back drops that can be found on Amazon

6. Every opportunity to advertise IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO ADVERTISE!

In my opinion, there is no "right" time to post based on time zones. Fans can come from all over the world meaning my 4 AM posting could be someone's 12 PM discovery. In your free time, promote, promote, promote! Out to eat and took a picture of your plate? Make a reimbursement findom twitter post! Always make sure to add your links and proper hashtags (remember to remove the '#' symbol to avoid being shadow banned)

7. Make your business and content fun

Remember that in this industry, we are always selling a fantasy and it's even better if you can get into it and have fun with it. I notice that I have the most fun on Niteflirt when I'm roleplaying and humiliating fans. The more into it I am, the longer the call, and the more I earn.

There are tons of avenues in this industry to be successful and get to the bag. When you go into it with intent, you reap the rewards.
