SAFETY AND BEYOND

Happy Monday! Today's course will be covering safety and conducting business with clients.

CLIENT SCREENING:

Client screening is important in all areas of this industry. Keeping yourself safe should ALWAYS be your top priority. For my screening practices, I require a photo ID and references to be sent by the client. You should always follow up with the references provided (require client to give direct contact methods to reference they are using) to ensure that the client is being truthful. If at any point you will uncomfortable or unsure about a client, abort mission. ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR GUT. Similar to regular everyday dating, you want to keep the same safety energy across the board.

Here are some additional tips:

• Trust your gut. 
• Ask to talk on the phone Use phone apps like Textfree, Textnow, or Google Voice if you are comfortable with chatting on the phone with a potential client to get more information
• Location and transportation control. Never accept personal transportation, instead request an Uber or other car service. When providing an address, use an address down the street from you, like a restaurant, shopping center, etc. You never want to give out your real address.
• Ask for personal information. Again, asking for photo ID, place of employment, references, experience, etc is okay here. If the client is combative, abort mission.

SIGNING UP ON PAYMENT APPS:

Most clients, subs, admirers, etc will want to send you tributes/deposits through payment apps. I use Cash App, Venmo, and Google Pay for tribute methods. Some foreign subs won't have access to these apps. A good alternative are apps that have subscription methods like Only Fans, IWC, etc. Niteflirt is also another way to receive tribute. ALWAYS TRANSFER MONEY OUT OF THESE APPS IMMEDIATELY. There have been instances in the past where sites like OF have held funds from people for no reason. It's best to transfer these funds out or to get a Cash App or Venmo Card.

When clients send tribute, make sure that they are not putting anything explicit or inappropriate in the description. This can result in losing your page. If you have a business in SW, you can sign up for a business account on these pay apps. Please be aware that if you sign up as a business, you will have to report this on your taxes every year. We will discuss tax filing further down. 

TAXES:

If you are running a business in SW, you will need to file taxes each year. Most clips and subscription websites automatically send you a 1099 form if you make over a certain amount each year (this amount is different per website). When you are filing, there are many things you can mark off as expenses that contributed to your business. This includes: outfits, camera supplies, office space in your home used for recording, tools, dungeon rentals, etc.

RECEIVING DEPOSITS FOR SESSIONS:

When it comes to sessions, whether virtual or RT, always require half deposit of the session amount up front. This prevents you from taking a total loss if the client cancels last minute. If for any reason you have to cancel, you should follow the following ethics: 

1. Ask client if they can reschedule

2. If client can't reschedule, you MUST send back their deposit as the cancellation was on your end.

Taking from a client and not providing a service is WRONG (unless you've discussed otherwise with the client or it is strictly FINDOM and they are paying you for existing.)

Make it clear to a client what they are paying for and how you will allot your time so that there is no confusion on their end.

Reminder that when using an app like Snapchat, messages never truly disappear. Be careful of what you’re sharing on these apps.
