TRAVELING AS A DOMME: EXTENDED TIPS

BEFORE TRAVEL:

1. Secure your passport - This should be a no brainer for those wanting to travel internationally. Secure your passport and if you have one already, make sure that it isn't expired. If you are wanting to stay in countries for 3 months or more, be sure to look into the visa requirements for each country.

2. Announce where you're headed or interested in going - This can be done through your social media outlets, email marketing, personal website, etc. No one will know where you're going unless it's announced. Advertise 1-2 months in advance.

3. Figure out and advertise your dates - Be sure of the dates you're coming so you're able to properly announce it. If it's a FMTY situation, be sure not to overbook yourself on the date dedicated for a FMTY session. 

4. Build your network and research - Find out what Dommes already live in the area that wouldn't mind giving you advice, helping you advertise, create content, etc. You can also get insight on the dungeons in the area (if any) or best places to hold sessions. Create community, be social. 

5. Reach out to dungeons - This is great to begin building a relationship with the dungeon as you never know when you might be back in the area! Some dungeons will even help advertise you if you are going to rent from them.

6. Once you're sure of where you're going, purchase a refundable transportation ticket (if it's a FMTY situation, the sub is required to purchase for you/tribute the funds to do so). 

DURING TRAVEL:

1. Be knowledgeable and safe - Let someone you trust know your location and how long you plan to be there. Research the area and get to know the culture before visiting. Always have enough funds to return back home/for emergencies

2. Decide where you plan to session (Dungeons vs Hotels/Air BNB's) - Note that with hotels and Air BNB, there's a possibility for less privacy. You will also have to check your noise level if using a hotel. If using a hotel, always book corner rooms and try not to book on 'quiet floors'. 

3. When conducting a session with a new sub, REFERENCE AND BACKGROUND CHECKS ARE STILL VERY IMPORTANT! We are trying to keep ourselves safe here so you should still do your due diligence in background checking. 

4. Only post locations you've visited AFTER you've already left the location. Posting in real time can be dangerous.

5. Utilize subs for different things. For example: when I visited London, I had a sub only be my chauffeur sub, meaning he drove me around wherever I needed to go. There are different subs for different services in each city; not all will have the funds to session but some can provide other things to help you with an easier experience.

AFTER TRAVEL:

1. POST YOUR CONTENT! This will let other subs and Dommes see that you travel so you can make even more connections for future travel. This content can be added to your paywall sites to bring in more income.

2. Decide if the place you traveled was lucrative enough for you to return.
