MP4 with audio below :)
I know a lot of people want to see more of this one so I'm starting work on it again. Sorry I didn't post last week, this animation has been very, very complex and quite stressful! I think it was worth it, however, because I'm very happy with the result. Also sorry that it's so short! I'm working on making a loop right now.
The tentacle movement is starting to feel more natural. It's been an interesting problem to tackle, because a lot the difficulty was in figuring out where the 'driving force' comes from. For example, you flex your bicep, your forearm pulls up and moves the hand. The bicep is the driving force. Or you can flex your shoulder, and it moves in a different way. But where is the 'muscle' for a tentacle? Well it seems like it can be anywhere, depending on how much of the tentacle needs to move. The more tentacle that needs to be pushed or pulled, the further down the line the muscle needs to flex. Just some thoughts I've been having while I work on this.
Anyways I'm done yapping about tentacles, hope you're doing good in this crazy world, stay safe and see ya soon ;)
Haha I'll keep at it! I'm likely adding fern into the mix too so it might be a while until it's done, but that just means more good stuff right ;)

Early on, an animation fundamental I learned was making sure only one action was happening at a time, so that the viewer is able to focus in on it easier. But I think I've learned to disagree, sometimes it is better to have a lot of moving parts. It gives it replay value, you can come back and notice little things you didn't see before. Or maybe just focus in on what you value more. The idea is trying to make all of the parts appealing, so wherever you look you get something good. And yeah that's the general plan for the loop, we'll see where it goes :) I really like this scene so I want to keep working on it beyond that

I appreciate that gurren :) But I think having a good schedule is really beneficial for me, I genuinely feel much better when I have a productive day!

It's incredible how much detail there is in just 4 seconds. Plus, when the loop starts, you'll definitely add details like changing facial expressions so it doesn't feel like a loop. Oh, and the detail in the feet is always appreciated.

Looks great glad to see you tackling it just take your time work on something else for a bit or take a break if needed don’t hold yourself to a set ridged schedule
