Halloween! Game update, last one before vid

Happy Halloween everyone! The next post will be your early access to the next YouTube video, which will be about this Minecraft Movie horror game that I've been working on for a while! The goal is for this game to have two videos made about it, then after that I will make a couple of videos based on the longer lasting projects such as Deaf Ears (the cornfield game) and Adipocere (the Bathening) or maybe even the ice tunnel game? Maybe😉

In this video I just talk about how I've altered the gameplay slightly by incorporating grabbing and throwing animals. The gameplay now flows like this:

Enter the level, use the provided in in game guides to identify which one of the animals is hiding as a monster, then grab the identified monster and throw it into the grinder, all while avoiding traps that will set off the alarm or injure the player. If the monster reveals itself, run back to the safety of the magical elevator.

There is something I forgot to mention in this video, Idk if it is important or not. In the YT vid I am currently working on, I don't ever mention the traps. That was something I was planning on discussing in the part 2. It's all part of my plan to get ahead on these projects you see 😬

Anyway I love you guys and I hope you stay safe out there on these spooky halloween days and nights! Next post is a new video!

totally, this is a great idea 👌 I could should have been better at describing the gameplay- at the moment, when you leave the level, you are given the results of your gameplay and how well you did will reflect on how much money you get to spend at the upgrade shop. if you killed the right sheep, you get a bonus, if you killed the wrong sheep, it cancels out that bonus and you get nothing. I was also juggling the idea of having some kind of rating per level, like you can either finish and get an A+ if you did everything perfect, or a lower grade, then maybe there will be some secret something you get for getting all perfect scored? idk, definitely not the greatest system and Im open to any suggestions😅

Also I think you should definitely make sure that there is a cost to grinding up excessive amount of live animals. Like if you’re on a timer and if you don’t discover the monster AND a certain number of sheep aren’t still alive when the timer ends, then you don’t pass the level and have to restart or it goes to a cutscene where the monster kills you. So I think having a positive outcome for clearing sheep and a negative outcome for grinding live sheep may be something to consider

oooh that's an interesting idea... so the main point of the traps so far is to add another way of potentially triggering the monster, but you're saying the traps could slow the player down when they are running away from the monster after it has been triggered? that's an interesting idea... that might work!

Luke

Wouldn’t it make sense if the trap doesn’t hurt you that it slows you down slightly?
