Although Lenny y’all don’t like watching the spoilers at the end, I think you should watch at least just once. The ending theme song is iconic to this drama and it’s what Wei Wuxian was playing using that leaf in the room before Lan Zhan came to the scene. It’s also a special theme song because both the actors of Wei Wuxian, aka Xiao Zhan, and Lan Zhan, aka Wang Yibo, sing it themselves and their vocals are so good and comforting. And also fact about me: I personally love Xiao Zhan so much and he’s one of my fave Chinese actors. He main character in other dramas which I hope you can check out in the future if you end up liking The Untamed and permanently want to make cdramas part of your reaction journey on Patreon

Even a cdrama lover and a historical one at that like me failed to understand it the first time I watched it, but I also watched the anime that this comes from called The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and that made more sense. Watching both helped me understand The Untamed more. Actually I’ve seen a lot of other historical cdramas and they aren’t as confusing except for having many characters you have to remember, so i think its just how this one historical cdrama specifically is

I know it can be a little confusing at first, especially if you don’t know Chinese culture and the symbolic meaning behind things but the Untamed is really good and totally worth the watch.

Hidden love next hehe, modern dramas aren't complicate like wuxia or xianxia c-dramas but idk about you guys when i first watch this i didn't understand anything 😅 took so long to get used to this type of c-dramas. But one of my favorite c-drama is ashes of love.

Oh by the way some information. Some comments already say some and I'm not gonna spoil anything I'm just gonna put some information about the actors. ❤️Xiao Zhan : he is the one with black outfit. He play the role of Wei Wuxian in the drama. He's 32. An actor and singer. Part of a Chinese group since 2016 called X Nine 💚Wang Yibo : he is the one in white. He's 26. He's a rapper, dancer, singer and actor. Part of a Kpop-Cpop group UNIQ since 2014. He play the role of Lan Zhan in the drama. You already saw him in street dance China. Some other informations in case yall feel like your head spinning because of different names and title 😭🤣🤣: For Lan Zhan: Lan Zhan it's his formal name (only closed one, family can call them with the formal name because if you're not member of the family or a closed one and use the formal name, it can be seen as rude) His courtesy name is Lan Wangji HanGuang Jun is his title name that other folks use to show respect. For Wei Wuxian: Wei Ying is his formal name Wei Wuxian, his courtesy name Yilling Patriach/Yilling Laozu is his title name (you'll understand this title later) A-xian is a little surname given by his sister (you'll get it later) 🥺 In the first episode we are 16 years later after Wei Wuxian's death/resurrection. But at the end of ep 2 and the beginning of ep 3, we'll get back 16 years back to understand what happen to Wei Wuxian and all those confusing questions that you may have 🤣🤣😭 I think that's it for now 😄👍🏼💯 NO SPOIL !!!!!

A bit of an explanation without giving anything away: First off, good luck! This drama is great but can be confusing at first. I'm sure you'll all have tons of questions! 😄 In these first episodes, here's what's up (no spoilers dont worry: In these first episodes, here's what's up: Cultivators are like investigators who deal with bad stuff. Wei Wuxian, our main guy, is super skilled at this and loves figuring things out. So, even though he died 16 years back, Mo Xuanyu does this spell, sacrificing himself to bring Wei Wuxian's spirit back. But, instead of taking over Xuanyu's body, Wei Wuxian comes back in his own form. Now, Mo Xuanyu had a tough life, bullied by his family and seeking revenge. He picked Wei Wuxian for this spell because Wuxian was infamous for being a bit of a bad guy in society, known for dark magic and causing a lot of trouble. The spell tasks Wei Wuxian with seeking revenge on those who hurt Xuanyu. The catch? If he fails, he dies for good. The tricky part is that Xuanyu forgot to specify the revenge plan in the spell. So, Wei Wuxian starts by trying to embarrass the bullies, but the scars on his body tell him he needs to do more. He indirectly gets rid of the scars by leading spirits to the Mo Family, the culprits, using a flag he created. From there, Wei Wuxian has two goals: keep his true identity hidden and figure out who the last scar represents before the spell kills him. Everything before the flashback in episode 2 is Wei Wuxian playing the role of Mo Xuanyu, finishing up Xuanyu's revenge task and unexpectedly meeting people from his past life.
