I am in absolute shock that noone has explained skz performance in the comments yet so let me do the honors: The prevailing theory is that the performance is about Hyunjin. And the more I look at it the more I agree. They make 8 (8!) rings before the performance showing that Hyunjin is very much on their mind. They give the 8th ring to the statue of the boy (that was taken from them almost like someone who was on Hiatus at the time of the performance cause of some bs bullying accusations and the toxic kpop industry culture), the whole performance is about them being willing to fight heaven and earth for the boy, aka Hyunjin. The lyrics they added scream Hyunjin "forbidden negotiation/you risk everything" "I won’t ever let you go again I can't just leave you like that again" "I lost everything the night that I lost you" "Please just wait a little longer Don't go anywhere, just stay where you are" "Always on my mind Always, always on my mind You’re always on mind 24/7, 365 Promise to be by your side Swear to God I'll risk my life No hope but still I try ’Cause all I hear from you are cries" It very much describes the situation skz were probably in at that time, wanting Hyunjin back. It feels like a message to the fans, "well get him back, dont worry", to the company "well do everything to get him back, we will escalate, be the bad guys, whatever. But we will get him back" and probably also to. Hyunjin himself. Also, coming back to the ring: when they talk about the meaning of the rings and the performance they talk about it representing "someone precious". And the way Chan talks about it is his typical diplomatic "I cant say what I mean but if you know you will get it" tone. I also find it interesting that changbin and Cahn are the two members interacting with the boy imo, Changbin kinda reminiscing in the black and white flachback and Cahn giving him his heart back. Chan and Changbin are probably among the closest members to Hyunjin and Chan is also the one very much keeping Skz together and always looking out for them and would absolutely be the driving force behind Hyunjins return so it just makes sense that its him that returns the heart to the statue, symbolising Hyunjins return. All these details ive notices during many, MANY watches enhance the performnce so much for me but it was already great on first watch, I dont know what the judges were smoking.
