Ughh the subtitles sometimes disappoint me. Wei Ying said: ā€œThis child, I gave birth to him.ā€ Not ā€œThis child is my son.ā€, which is why Lan Zhan looked so shocked until he realized that prankster Wei Ying was once again just joking & teasing him. It’s funny how Lan Zhan was at first like ā€œI’m not his father.ā€ and then Wei Ying appears and says he gave birth to A-Yuan and Lan Zhan just accepts the fact that he now also has a son like ā€œMy son, you like this toy? Imma buy you everything you want.ā€

So well written, and agree šŸ’Æ it brings me great joy to see MXTX characters don't act OOC. There is a reason for their choices deep rooted in their past and their personalities.

Agree with alisa. Maybe delete/edit the first sentence if possible my friend?

Lennnyyy thank you for offering to help host the discord sessions/discussions yay! I dont know much about how discord works but lemme know how we can get the ball rolling🄹 what i have written below in this long mesaage is the kind of things i really want to talk with people and know thier thoughts. My two cents about jiang cheng here because he fascinates me as a character. I think that majority of the people who absolutely hate on jiang cheng up to this point in the drama would react exactly like him if they were in his position. Wei wuxian makes mistakes but majority of the time, he acts like a typical hero (which i absolutely love him for). And people love such characters because they can be considered as our idols with minimum flaws, someone we aspire to be, the ideal versiom of ourselves. However, jiang cheng is scarily human and is acting exactly like 95% of the population would in his position. So, then we hate on him for not having the guts to stand up to those who are manipulating him, when humans in general are self-preserving creatures. While i do think he has major anger management issues and needs to recheck his moral compass, he has been given really tough options in front of him. He wants wei wuxian back because he loves him, but he cant support wei wuxian in helping the wens as he is a literal 'barely an adult' clan leader who has to look after the whole clan who was destroyed not long ago, and rebuild their strength. which is only possible if he has support from the rest of the cultivation world. He doesnt hate the wens, but knows that supporting them means putting jiang clan in danger for eternity from the cultivation world and it can also lead to their destruction if the other clans decide to do a 'sunshot campaign 2.0' on the jiang clan for supporting demonic cultivation and the wens. He is trying to choose the lesser evil. You guys know the train moral dilemma problem? It goes like this: "a train is barreling down a track at five people. You’re in position to throw a switch, diverting the train to another track where it would only hit one person. So here’s your choice: Should you let the five people die, or make an active choice to kill the one person?" Which is more brutal? Jiang cheng is trying to save weiying and his whole clans future at the expense of the remaining wen clan. I am in no way supporting him offering the wen clan to others and basically letting them die, especially considering wen qing wen ning helped the jiangs. But we are imperfect humans and this is something that could have stumped most of us, so i do empathise with him a little bit. The only way i see that this could have been solved was if wei ying freaking communicated with jiang cheng, and vice versa. They could have worked out a plan to help both sides at once, and suffer less loss. Not that I know what that genius plan would that be. This is also the reason why i love this story so much, it really forces me to redefine my definiton of bad people and good people. I still havent reached a conclusion on what the definiton could be, nor do i think i ever will. Perhaps there are good/bad situations, good/bad choices and good/bad perspectives. A person could be a boss and physically bully his employees daily, but he will come back home and absolutely love his child and wife and support everything they do and would die for them. So what kind of person is he exactly? These thoughts really give me the 'existential crisis' feels. 🄲 Damn that was a long ass comment.🤧

Guys in 36:41 the missing sub says ā€œ1 month laterā€ , so they reunited after month.

Weiying actually said "This child, i gave birth to him" not "This child is my son" haha

WangXian and A 'Yuan are the cutest little family 😭

While I agree with Wei Wuxian, I do feel sad for Jiang Cheng in this episode even if it can be a little frustrating seeing their conversation. While it isn't the right thing in my opinion to turn the wens away, I get that Jiang Cheng cares the most about Wei Wuxian since he is actually his family. He wishes Wei Wuxian could leave the wens behind and return to lotus cove so that the three of them can be happy together and the world won't turn their backs on Wei Wuxian. He's scared and also hurt that Wei Wuxian left him and Yanli so easily. But of course, Wei Wuxian had to save the wens and I hope Jiang Cheng won't be too heartbroken over this and understand. It was sad that they were hurt in their fight together but that fight was really cool to be honest. Like of course I want the two brothers to make up, but that's one of my favorite mini-fight scenes in the show. Btw Jiang Cheng was bleeding because Wei Wuxian's use of his flute chenqing had injured him. On a side note, Jiang Cheng's clothes since becoming clan leader have been fire. Sad to see Wen Qing return the comb because honestly, Jiang Cheng's crush on her is cute, but I understand why she did it. I probably would have returned it as well considering the situation now. Wen Qing has to look out for herself and her people and she's realized that she and Jiang Cheng aren't exactly on the same ends right now. Thank the universe for peacock becoming so caring and honest about his feelings. It's so nice to see Jin Zixuan treating Yanli like this and it's adorable that he was planting the lotus for her in Jinlintai. Rooting for those two for real. Also I wanted to let you know that in the funny scene where Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan reunite, when Wei Wuxian said that Yuan was his son, he had actually said, "this child, I gave birth to him". Which makes Lan Zhan's reaction even funnier because he's like GAVE BIRTH?? The people talking to Lan Zhan were like "Where's his mom? Where's his mother?" And Wei Wuxian, being the guy he is, took that opportunity to be like "hey Lan Zhan, I just casually gave birth to this child" lol. I'll forever love Wei Wuxian. I'm so happy Wangxian has reunited right now and they're so lovely together. Lan Zhan looked so amazed to see him and I love that he bought all those toys for A-yuan.

Truly, after watching Jiang Cheng. Somehow his character is one of the most i would say humane. Putting myself in his shoes i don't think i would have reacted differently honestly. Wei Ying is a hero, truly but how many people can be like Wei Ying in the real world? We are more bound to be like Jiang Cheng I think.

It’s way better not to be spoiled even if the spoiler is ambiguous. It’s better when you don’t know things.

Alisa Zelyonaya

The first time I watched The Untamed I almost hated Jiang Cheng, but when I watch it again and again, I realized that Jiang Cheng suffered a lot too and sacrifices a lot too. I understand his pov now. I made my mom, big sisters watch The Untamed, and they hate him (I'm always trying my best to explain his character but still 😭). At the end, he's just human + he's a traumatized child too

Armys_FršŸ‰

Omggg I can't believe that Jin Zixuan is the same Jin Zixuan that made Yanli cry with his aloof behaviour. Like, he's smiling???? And promising to build another Lotus Cove for her??????? I can't lie, I was giggling and kicking my feet like a schoolgirl with a crush when Yanli called him "Zixuan" and they stood there looking so in love 🤭 On the other hand, Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng are breaking my heart. Can't they find another solution that doesn't involve cutting ties between them 😭 Although, Jiang Cheng summarised the whole problem perfectly (as someone analysed his character very well in another comment): as long as you're going with the current, even if you're sometimes wild and ignoring the rules, ppl will praise you for your strength. However, the moment you start trying to swim against it, you suddenly become Public Enemy Number 1, even if you're the one who's morally correct. (Ughh thank god we've got WangXian and their little domestic family dynamic, and buckle up, because it's gonna get even cuter 🫠) Can't wait for the next one ā¤ļø

Lmao the slowmo when Lan Zhan and Wei Ying met tho. Also Lan zhan going on to buy all those toys for A'Yuan how cuteeeeee. I know a lot people will hate Jiang cheng for his characters, but honestly he might be rash but out of concern for his brother he wanted him to stay out of trouble. Then again he is the clan leader now and the decision he makes now are not only his but for the clan. Lol after writing this, i realized a lot of people commented about Jiang cheng. So to sum it up Jiang cheng's actions and reactions I think are very humanly in that perspective.

sadde_s

Wow! This is a very cute episode the next one is the cutest, and happy… and then sad, but c'est la vie… Already waiting for the next episode! Thank you! šŸ™

Jun Hinotori

Jiangcheng must hv felt huge burden & confusions; his whole clan slaughtered, suddenly became young leader and had to rebuild his clan from scratch.. then if he tries to defend Weiying and wen clan openly, the price might be whole jiang clan being enemy of the world šŸ’” (the other clans are so messed up) But I really like the interesting story arc of jiangcheng-weiwuxian. "Qiongqi road/path" the place where wen remnants laboring under jin & wenning's killed then ressurected, will be the place of other grand occurences. Poor weiying has no money 🤭 he's alr struggling to find food. Regarding question abt viral time, I guess even before broadcasted, untamed had gained interest from the novel fans and the reveal of main leads. Then after airing, it became big and boosted both xiaozhan & yibo fame even more. Some ads and interviews were done while shooting the series~~ Lastly, I like how we always finish the episode with Luck singing Wu Ji soulfully (?) šŸŽ¤šŸŽµ

natver

My favorite scene I love how Lan zhan was flustered by the people and how wei ying just stands there to enjoy the show. My mother did the same thing to me that Buying and Asking are different, not everything that you asked for means you should buy them. I can't wait for Wen Ning ( Yu Bin) to be back I miss him so much.

Feremusu Marah

It's funny because A-Yuan does look like Lan Zhan, especially his nose 🤣🄹😭

I am here for the littel family of Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian and A-Yuan

Leah Kim

I feel it's a good time to speak on Jian Cheng as a character. for starters, Jiang Cheng has always been a weak-willed person which can be attributed to his upbringing. His mother was a very harsh woman and his father often looked away, ignoring his feelings and his mother's harshness. This led a person to have a very self-doubting and anxious outlook and when you have a natural talent like Wuxian who easily brings in the large contrast between them, I understand why Jiang Cheng would have many weaknesses especially when it comes to standing up for the right thing. Wei Wuxian is doing the right thing because he knows the truth and doesn't care about the world while Jiang Cheng is a very new leader and doesn't want to rub the other major clans. I personally don't think that he had any issues with Wuxian doing demonic cultivation at all given when they first found him, he defended Wuxian against Lan Zhan stating it's a family matter. but now the whole thing has escalated. Jiang Cheng is a person who needs a strong-willed partner to help him since he relies a lot on his emotional standpoint and that person for him was Wei Wuxian but now Wuxian is doing his own stuff, he is left behind. he has no one to guide and support him. Another major issue in which if Wuxian had told Jiang Cheng the whole truth, I feel things would have been much easier. in fact if Wei Wuxian had told Jiang Cheng and Lan Zhan, his reasons.. this whole story would be different but that's for another day. So for Jiang Cheng, his point is like i should just save Wei Wuxian and abandon the Wens, that his easiest route since he doesn't want any more conflict on his clan's behalf or on Wuxian. He is a complex character that is easily overlooked and hated since he has some anger issues but i would like people to really study the role Jiang Cheng plays both as an individual and as a brother to Wuxian. Alot of his trauma and response is easily ignored or misunderstood which i hate to see. Not to say, he isn't an asshole, he is and if he had more faith in himself and Wuxian, perhaps it would have a better outcome. Given how MXTX wrote Jiang Cheng from the start to the end, he is the personality that may know what is right and true but won't act on it, instead hide in a shell that fits in with the majority, greatly pushing the story and bringing Wuxian and Lan Zhan together as we see Lan Zhan adapts and chooses Wuxian in the end.
