It can be assumed that Xue Yang knew from the beginning that Jing was not blind and was testing her to see how far she was willing to lie even though she knew that the sword would pierce her if she continued walking. You see Xue Yang's surprise when Jing swallows his spit but continues to walk away with the sword pointed at him. Xue Yang is a very attractive character. He is a pathetic so-called psychopath who has done things that can never be forgiven, but is in fact devoid of ethics and love. Not much is said about him in this drama, but the more you know about him, the more you realise he is not just a villain. I always look forward to another reactions π«Άπ«ΆThanksπ«Άπ«Ά

I get kinda sad that people shut down anytime the villain explain where his motivations come from since they already don't like him, because I find it really interesting seeing what are the crazy man's beliefs. It just shows that he is terrible, downright insane and completely delusional and I love characters like that XD I also love little A-Jing, Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen, they suffered so much ;-; Really love that you guys read the comments with explanations and all of that!!

Actually, I like every characters in this story :)) The author builds her characters so well that a madman like Xue Yang even have his own fandom π€·ββοΈ I'll judge no one. Fun fact, actors who played Jiang Cheng, Nie Huaisang, Lan Jingyi (the junior who quarrels so much), Xiao Xingchen, Lan Zhan and Wei Ying all originally auditioned for the role of Xue Yang. Xiao Xingchen's actor said he was the only one who partly got the role because there were a scene when Xue Yang pretended to be Xiao Xingchen. Guess they all wanted to be the bad guy π€·ββοΈ

They were the true couple and the fact that Song Lan lost him in such a despicable way... my heart breaks. and to think that Xiao Xingchen died such a painful death, knowing that he had hurt his soulmate and the guilt that consume him. and darling Ah JING.... poor family. To think that this could have easily been how Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian would have ended up if he hadn't been resurrected

I will never understand ppl who defend or even ship Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang. Xue Yang isn't a misunderstood character or someone you feel sorry for. This guy is just like the Wens, maybe even more evil because he is psychologically impaired. A true psychopath!! He never loved Xiao Xingchen .. he was just an instrument for his own plots and ploys. Even the reason why he wants to bring him back to life aren't even ...ughhhhh. Whenever i see edits of him on TikTok and the comments just being all like oh poor Xue yang, he just wanted some love, he was just confused. NOOOOOOOO! HE IS A MANIPULATOR, NARCISSIST AND DOWNRIGHT EVIL!!! TO THE BONE!!

They managed to make me love xiao xingchen so fast and then to watch him get manipulated like that was so frustrating. He had no idea the person he'd been living with was his literal greatest enemy. I can't even imagine how painful it's been all this time for Jing and also how much Song Lan has suffered. Like Xue Yang why couldn't you have been a chill dude. Also I agree with you guys, Jing and XXC's friendship was so enjoyable to watch and I wish we could've seen more of those relaxed times before Xue Yang entered the picture. I can't believe how cruel he is. It's bad enough to kill Song Lan but to force Xiao Xingchen to kill him himself is sick and terrible. By the way, there actually are in fact 50 episodes of the Untamed, so it's still how long you guys thought it was. Oh and in the last episode they said that the bag wangxian took from Xue Yang has someone's spiritual cognition inside and Xue yang wanted Wwx to repair it. But remember wwx said he can't because there was barely anything of the cognition left in the bag and the person was already dead.

If you haven't noticed, ever since Weiying came back as Mo Xuanyu, (ep 33 I think, after the flashback) Lan Zhan's clothes has like 2 buttons. He was even wearing it in the first ep (which was also 16yrs later). One on each side. In ancient China, I believe the buttons were worn by those who were married. In the novel, Lan Zhan and Weiying accidentally perform marriage rituals 16 yrs ago and I just think it's a fun detail to add the buttons because u can really tell how much Lan Zhan's loyalty lies with Weiying. For him to wear those buttons, he technically made himself unavailable to anyone. And imagine if Weiying never came back....

Also, I completely agree that that flashback was waaay too short.
