2024-06-09 05:25:11 +0000 UTCSo just in case you guys want to know specifically; for the episodes of The Untamed's anime version, Mo Dao Zu Shi, there are 35 actual episodes in total, with 3 seasons (I'm saying "actual" episodes because there are some prequel episodes which basically just provides aditional context). Each episode is roughly around 23-25 minutes long, and a few episodes are about 28-30 minutes long.

2024-06-08 21:05:01 +0000 UTCThat’s good to know I was really looking forward to watch it but I just look it up and most of the websites have the eps up until 38 tho??

2024-06-08 18:57:42 +0000 UTCYes, all of the eps are on various websites but I think the subtitles got better since lots of people decided to subtitle every ep

2024-06-07 19:02:49 +0000 UTCSorry for the two parts but I think there's a great lesson in Lan Zhan's parents' story. It is sort of a foreshadow of how Lan Zhan wished to take Wei Wuxian back to Gusu to hide him. He would have followed his father's path, find a house and locked Wuxian away from the world and lock himself away so as to repent for the misdeeds according to the Lan rules. It seems the Lan men are suckers for love.

2024-06-07 16:31:03 +0000 UTCI understand Lan Xichen's doubt... it's not easily to be told such things about the person you trust and love. Don't blame him soo much .. Anyway, allow me to self-advertise here, for all Untamed fans and lovers, I wrote a very successful modern fanfic on Wattpad so if you wish to reunite with our beloved cast, go over and take a look.(https://www.wattpad.com/story/240047841?utm_source=android&utm_medium=com.whatsapp&utm_content=share_writing&wp_page=create&wp_uname=leahaivlis )... leave many comments as well.

2024-06-07 16:16:04 +0000 UTCThe duration of each of the 50 eps of The Untamed anime version is 45 minutes. I would also recommend watching the Stephanie Soo video that explains the entire situation of Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan but in my opinion that situation reminds of a Cdrama called The Spirealm (which has 78 eps) that was released this year which was adapted from a Boys Love story that was taken down from the website it was released on an hour after it was released. The homophobic Chinese government really underestimated BL fans because within that hour before it was taken down, thousands of BL fans downloaded all of the eps and have been sharing it on many platforms, BL fans have also subtitled every ep.

2024-06-07 06:57:07 +0000 UTCI was so excited for this episode’s reaction to come out! It’s one of my favorite episodes bc I love how Wei Wuxian gets to learn about Lan Zhan’s past and gain a greater understanding of him. I especially love how sweet they were together in this episodes and you could just see how they genuinely are so deeply connected at this point in their lives. To me, it really feels like they truly understand each other more than ever at this point in the show. Also Zewu Jun is struggling frl 😭. Prayers for Zewu Jun 🤞🏻🫡. When I first watched the show and I saw Jin Guangyao casually stroll into the building with Wangxian being right there, I was shook and CONCERNED. So glad it seemed to go okay haha. Also the last episodes are all good on youtube except for episode 50; the final episode. It has muted parts when characters are speaking. So excited for the next reaction!!

2024-06-07 06:05:37 +0000 UTCHonestly Even tho I like the love at first sight cliche but always prefer the gradual love it actually more realistic and much better to their love story so thank you for the correction.

2024-06-06 18:59:59 +0000 UTCOne thing for sure is that LZ developed his feelings for WY while they were studying together, but definitely not love at first sight.

2024-06-06 14:17:40 +0000 UTCso, the word in question is zhījǐ, which literally translates to "knows self". It's usually used with the meaning of "a person who truly knows and understands me in the spiritual sense" (at least as well, or even better than I know and understand myself). Unfortunately there's no exact equivalent to that in English, so ig all "confidant", "bosom friend" and "soulmate" are possible translations. (ofc it's obvious which my favorite one is 😁)
Neti
2024-06-06 14:07:29 +0000 UTCam really done with the “friend” one like is it similar to “soulmate” in Chinese 😒😭?

2024-06-06 14:01:02 +0000 UTCarmy_fr already mentioned it Wei Wuxian's body had a mole beneath his lower lip and when Wei Wuxian came back in Mo Xuanyu's body, he doesn't have the mole anymore.. and lan xhan his around 35-36 and wei ying is around 26 -27 because mo xuanyu was 27 when he died..

2024-06-06 13:59:23 +0000 UTCHahah actually that's just a theory abt their first time! In the novel, the incense burner shenanigans happen only after they're already living their happily-ever-after together. In this particular scene, nothing rly happens, WY is still recovering from his sword wound, and LZ just wakes him up early to eavesdrop on Zewu-jun's conversation with Jin Guangyao, so that's why he looks tired 👀
Neti
2024-06-06 13:57:44 +0000 UTCYes, WY was very out of it and up until that point he saw LZ's attempts to help him as him meddling and trying to control him. So ofc, he wouldn't think LZ saving him was because he actually cared abt him. Abt the 33 elders, my bad, it's been a while since I read the books and im currently rereading them but still relatively at the beginning, lemme fix my comment

2024-06-06 13:53:19 +0000 UTCThis ep was so wholesome and full of WangXian and WuJi 😭🥺, I really love LanZhan’s personality development Especially towards Weiying , even tho LanZhan loved Weiying back then but you can see the difference between how he acted towards Weiying then and now ,it shows that losing Weiying had really effected him.

2024-06-06 13:48:42 +0000 UTCSince no one mention it, do you guys remember, WY have always been curious how did LZ regconized him? He figured it out by himself in this episode as LZ wishes :)) He was playing the song that LZ sang for him in the Xuanyu cave and asked LZ if he composed it himself. LZ composed the song for them and have only sung it once for WY, so only LZ and WY know the song. But when WY came back as Mo Xuanyu, he played this song unintetionnally without even knowing where it came from (he forgot LOL). And LZ was like wait wait stop there stop there. And about WY being godified and whitewashed in the show, I didn't want to mention this because it might break the image of WY for some people. But I found it pretty unfair for some side characters who was hated by some viewers, because those characters hate WY. The show erased WY's crimes but still made other characters blame him, which make them look like fools who only believe in unconfirmed rumors or betrayers. You can raise the main character up but please don't put the others down. Still avoid spoiling anything so I'll say no more, just some personal opinion.
Happy happyyy
2024-06-06 13:44:09 +0000 UTCi personally don't think its romantic.. its just that everyone early on bullied Jin Guangyao (meng yao) and lan zichen kinda pitied him.. Jin Guangyao is great with words .. he is very persuasive.. and lan zichen was one of the few who actually respected him.. he naturally got attached to him.. and Jin Guangyao supported lan clan and lan zichen once he become clan leader.. and book author herself said that except wangxian no-one actually has homosexual relationship is the novel..

2024-06-06 13:40:40 +0000 UTCYes yes yes yes, please rewatch all the Untamed TikToks! I enjoyed your reactions to them so much but I just know it is going to hit different once you’re done cause then you’ll be able to understand all the inside jokes. I hope that you guys with also react to the 2 extra movies that came out after the Untamed “Fatal journey” and “Living dead”. In my opinion, especially Fatal journey has helped me understand the second half of the Untamed better and made me love and appreciate the Nie brothers even more.

2024-06-06 13:37:58 +0000 UTCWhen I first watch the show I was like "LZ's height is the same with WY and WY don't have ponytail? No way!". They even have to give Yibo a tall wing and say bye bye to the signature high ponytail of WY.
Happy happyyy
2024-06-06 13:33:06 +0000 UTCIt was hinted that WY's dead was a suicide but we could never know if it's true. Also, LZ didn't kill 33 seniors of the Lan clan but INJURED them. WY telling LZ to get lost was also because he wasn't fully conscious then, he didn't even know about the confession. That's why when he's back from death, he still misunderstood and thought LZ hated him. LZ thought WY had already known his feelings and had been with him all the time because he felt the same. But no, WY straight up friendzoned LZ and he was heartbroken :)))
Happy happyyy
2024-06-06 13:28:17 +0000 UTCThe mark is like the fobidden question that you will never know the answer in the show. That's why they only showed it once and never mentioned it ever again, or the censorship will smack their head :)))

2024-06-06 13:13:06 +0000 UTCwei ying would say most flirtatious things to lan zhan but sorry is were he draws line.. but then again lan zhan hates it when wei ying thanks him... bts of donkey scene is funny .. xiao zhan would struggle to sit on it.. and all laugh and giggle its so cute..

2024-06-06 12:55:17 +0000 UTCThe famous incense burner scene. Guys actually WWX was not being mischievous, it's because LZ did not give him a chance to sleep the whole night and he was tired this was their first time to sleep together in the drama. Poor little MianMian her eyes saw what she shouldn't have seen. My boy Lan Zhan been living to his "EVERYDAY MEANS EVERYDAY", In the novel Little MianMian saw them first doing what they do everyday.

2024-06-06 12:26:04 +0000 UTCI just wanted to talk about something that always caught my attention. The subtle detail that the director of The Untamed used for Wei Wuxian as himself and Wei Wuxian in Mo Xuanyu's body. I mean, Wei Wuxian's body had a mole beneath his lower lip. And he was at the same height as Lan Zhan just a little shorter than him. But when Wei Wuxian came back in Mo Xuanyu's body, he doesn't have the mole anymore + he was still taller than other people of course but way shorter than Lan Zhan this time. That's why I said once on youtube that it was funny to see the height difference between Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian in The Untamed, because in real life Xiao Zhan is taller than Wang Yibo. I still remember the way I was so shocked to see their height difference in real life because I wasn't prepare to see that 🤣🤣🤣 then I was wondering why is he shorter all of a sudden and thought maybe it was the camera angle, but then I learned the truth sjfndnnfndx I can't They had to make Yibo taller to fit the story 😭

2024-06-06 12:14:26 +0000 UTCAs far as I've gathered, most rumors abt the Yiling Laozu are false, so I think it's fair to assume that those surrounding his death are, too. Not sure if the author confirmed it, but I think the truth abt WWX's death remains unknown to this day. From what I've read and seen, everything else are just theories. So yeah, ig we'll never know 🤷♀️

2024-06-06 10:53:02 +0000 UTCYes that scene in the live action is new! That’s not how it happened in the novel. I was definitely confused when I saw that. I was rereading the novel recently and in the first chapter, it says that Wei Ying’s power backfired and he was ripped to pieces. So I think this means that he lost control of the ghosts and they bit him to death - it was kind of an awful death.

2024-06-06 10:32:14 +0000 UTCSo much to unpack in this episode! Sorry in advance for the long comment 🫣🙏 Do you remember Wei Ying telling drunk Lan Zhan about his parents in episode 6, when the boys were still studying in Cloud Recesses and smuggled in alcohol illegally? They showed a flashback of baby WY riding on a donkey with his mom and dad by his side. The donkey scene here is a direct parallel to that. Actually, in the novel and animation, WY's mom is the one riding, while his dad is leading the donkey and carrying baby WY on his shoulders. When WY remembers this, he asks LZ to pick up the reins and lead the donkey and then says to himself "Now all that's missing is a little one." Like, how cute is that!!! The story of LZ's childhood is heartbreaking. We can't help but notice the parallels there, too. His dad married his mom and locked her up in Cloud Recesses in order to protect her from being punished for her crimes. Remember how LZ wanted to bring WY back to Gusu and hide him there all those years ago (when he came back as a "demonic" cultivator)? His uncle also warned him abt not making the same mistakes his father did and tried to keep him away from WY. Of course, I don't truly believe LZ would have actually kept Wei Ying as a prisoner, bc he loves him too much to take his freedom away from him. Lan Xichen really is the GOAT, bc he said everything that LZ wasn't able to express with words. He basically confessed LZ's feelings to WY by likening their relationship to that of their parents. Also, again in the subtitles of this episode the same word was translated as "one true friend" but is more accurately "soulmate". A big difference from the original story is the aftermath of the battle at Nightless City. In the novel, WWX doesn't actually die by falling off a cliff. During the battle LZ actually saves him and takes him back to a cave in Yiling, where he takes care of him by feeding him his own spiritual energy. He also confesses his feelings but the traumatized WWX, who just watched his sister die, tells him to get lost. Then, when the other cultivators find them, LZ fights and injures 33 of them (hence the 33 whip lashes on his back), in order to take WWX back to the Burial Mounds. Fun fact: in Chinese culture there's a Rabbit God, known as the guardian of gay love, since he symbolizes homosexual relationships. So yeah, including all those bunnies def had a purpose and also helped get the true story past the censorship 🐇 Thanks, gang, as always for the amazing reaction! The way you're all so invested in this journey and take all our reaction suggestions, while still trying to please everyone and fulfill everyone's wishes... it honestly makes me emotional. Your dedication is truly heartwarming and I'm so glad to be part of your YouTube and Patreon family ❤️

2024-06-06 10:25:52 +0000 UTCAfter injuring thirty-three elders of the Gusu Lan Clan who have come to stop Lan Wangji after he saves Wei Wuxian from the Bloodbath of Nightless City, Lan Wangji is punished with the discipline whip. He endures thirty-three strikes, one for each elder, and is bedridden for several years as a result. after WWX died, LWJ found a leftover branding iron and as he was drunk, he burned himself in the same spot WWX was burned because as he said in the Cave of Xuanwu, the mark would be left on him forever and it could never be forgotten. lan zhan the man u r ... we could only wish for man like him..
