I watched abunch of straight people react to it and they just do not get it like we do HSDHGFS. Some of them hated Glinda which I can't relate because she was the best part! They just don't get her or just camp in general. Ariana SLAYED.

2025-12-02 03:24:31 +0000 UTCThe only thing I know about this movie is it has to do, a little bit with The Wizard of Oz. The first 20 minutes are WILD! So far my impressions are the green chick's dad is a DICK, the people who freak out because she's green are DICKS, and Michelle Yeoh seems like a snake. Also the little green baby was adorable! Also....SHIZ? That's a choice. Lol I just finished it and that last song was a doozy! My favorite part was your reactions, I love watching stuff with people who REALLY LOVE what they're watching!

2025-11-22 00:02:11 +0000 UTCAs much as they glossed over it I can only assume that Elphaba’s father KNEW that she wasn’t his and that’s why he treated her so poorly. *This isn’t a spoiler, we witnessed her mother having an affair with a man who gave her a green elixir at the start of the movie. I’m not excusing his behavior, I’ve just seen this IRL as well.

2025-11-21 23:22:40 +0000 UTCAlso, I was lucky enough to see the OBC as a kid! Then again a couple years later when Ben Vereen (my all time favorite MT artist) played the wizard—that one was otherwise OBC. Plus a couple slime tutorials (Lencia Kebede and Annaleigh Ashford are my overall favs!).

And my classes at Shiz are bubble physics and scarecrow anatomy (have I become Pearl 😭). *~~some Easter eggs 🐣~~* 1) In Wizard and I & Gravity, every time Elphie sings “unlimited” it’s the same melody as the “somewhere” in Somewhere Over the Rainbow, sometimes same key sometimes diff one. 2) After the poppy scene when Elphie puts the lion cub in her bike basket & bikes away, the Wicked Witch theme song plays, but w pleasant instrumentation (mirroring Toto). *** For Good spoilers*** 3) In the opening scene of the film when the camera pans away from Elphie’s castle and over the bridge, you can Galinda escaping. 4) In the prelude of No One Mourns, trumpets play the melody from “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead,” but just that of “ding dong the witch is” bc Elphaba isn’t dead!

But I didn’t really get invested into it myself until like the beginning of last year because I wanted to prepare for this movie coming out. I certainly wish I had gotten into it before that though because it has added more magic to my life.
