I hope one day you'll check out the US iteration of Queer as Folk, it was groundbreaking in its portrayal of sex and gay relationships. The cast and the acting are incredible, the music (on the dvds, sadly due to rights issues the streaming version has similar music, but it's not as iconic) is the heartbeat of the show, and the social issues the show tackled are, unbelievably, still related to things the LGBTQIA+ community are dealing with today. Lots of romantic storylines, lots of brave characters living their truth, and all the DRAMA a person can handle.

I too has hopeful but secretly scared they would crash/get outed/choke on a tuna melt/anything bad happen … because deep inside I could not compute such happiness as they had. This perfect little show was very healing.

It’s the best LGBTQ series beside Sense8 I’ve ever seen as it ticked all my boxes: music, chemistry between leads, raw honesty and incredibly real with language, NC scenes exactly like in real life, loads of love and emotions and cute moments so I’ll rewatch it multiple times with you now during Xmas break as I have no access to HBO in Ireland and it’ll be screened on Sky only from 13th January. Thank you again and look forward to season 2 hopefully next year🥰💕

2025-12-29 05:08:50 +0000 UTCfor the books: you guys should do a book club type of structure! maybe you read a few chapters at a time and then talk about some of the stuff you liked, lines that stood out, comparisons to the show, etc! that way its broken up and it feels more interactive! then we can reread the chapters along with you guys. also, you could just read them out loud too, keeping all of it or just editing it down to tthe highlights, which i think would feel more like your usual structure. i LOVED your reactions to the show and im so excited for you guys to get into the books, however you decide to do it :)

I adore them both, but Ilya in this episode stole my heart. Opening up about his mother, telling Shane he loved him and realizing he was loved back and absolutely INHALING that pasta when Shane’s trying to have a serious conversation with his parents 🤣🤣 Soft for Shane Ilya is my favorite.

Because he immediately talks about the charger and not what he saw and I kind of assumed he didn’t tell Yuna because she asks what exactly was going on. But this was my assumption because I haven’t read the book but yeah! :) I loved ya’lls reaction.

The consistent use of sunlight and warm lighting, and in a cabin full of windows, to contrast the dark hotel rooms that their relationship started in. Shane going down to his knees to hug Ilya in a very tender moment, contrasted with the *spicier* versions of him going down on his knees in their early encounters. The toe tap that calls back to their press conference. We went from “We didn’t even kiss” to Ilya’s “gimme kiss 💋” Just an absolute masterclass. The line that absolutely destroyed me was “She would have loved you. Like I love you.” AT LEAST KISS THE BRICK BEFORE YOU THROW IT AT ME 😭😭😭

I really don’t think the show is corny, I think too many people are afraid of sincerity. The scenes where they tell each other that they love each other & “she would have loved you, like I love you” were two of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I feel bad for people who are so closed off they can’t show their heart on their sleeve. I love seeing Ilya be so liberated and have huge smiles! Also, YUNA 💜💜💜.

SO GRATEFUL to you for getting this out so ridiculously fast. This is why I stay subbed lol. Also, I just had a thought about your apology last episode for "missing" some of the important subtext in the first name thing in E4. Other creators are getting viewers complaining that they keep pausing to talk when they have something important that they want to add instead of just letting the scene play all the way through (idgi...why are you watching a reaction video instead of just watching the original content?) so you literally CANNOT please everyone. Just keep doing your thing the way it works for you!

I will definitely be on the look out for next projects for Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie I’m glad to have found them they are both really funny and charismatic and I feel a strong liking to them and can’t wait to see what they’re opportunities are like after this show being so popular :))
