2025-08-27 03:28:29 +0000 UTCCersei deserved to be punished but I always hated the shame part and felt uncomfortable watching it everytime because it was degrading and debasing, they were punishing her for her sexual activities and not the things we hate her for, the punishment felt slightly misogynistic because of this and showed how the High Sparrow was just enjoying stepping on people who look down on him like Cersei enjoyed stepping on Margery, same with the faith’s homophobia and « purity culture » which they focus on more than the actual horrifying crimes these people like Cersei commit

I’m so excited to see how you two react to last few seasons 😁

Going to miss that sweet little historian, I loved her, and she didn't deserve what happened to her. Also, hang in there!! I cannot wait for season 6 its so good. I won't say anything more until you finish the series, but the writing of the show and how they chose to handle so many aspects is so indicative of the lack of diversity in their writer's room.

2025-05-28 04:14:35 +0000 UTCre: the show using VFX - they did do a lot of practical, but there was a ton of invisible VFX in addition to the obvious stuff like the dragons. The dothraki in the scene with Dany definitely make use of some crowd extension - so they had the close up shots with background actors and then the wider shots they did VFX to add more dothraki. I did a research project on the VFX in GoT! It's so fascinating. A lot of the sets are real sets with set extensions, etc. The creation of the dragons is also super cool. There are videos online if you want to see the process!

I hope when you both finish the Game of Thrones series that you also will watch HBO’s House of the Dragon series ( aka “Dance of the Dragons”). It is also good. It’s a whole new cast and of course the focus is the Targaryen family. There is only 2 seasons so far. There will be a 3rd season at some point in 2026 (date has not been announced I believe).

Just know they run out of book material after this season so the quality dips and is purely the writers creation. This is the perfect end honestly.
