JAWS (1975) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

He’s 50, he’s hungry, and he’s still got the bite to prove it. To celebrate JAWS turning the big 5-0, we’re diving headfirst into the shark-infested waters of Spielberg’s legendary thriller—for the very first time! Join us as we scream, squirm, and side-eye every ripple in the ocean. This movie made an entire generation fear the beach… will it still chomp that hard in 2025? 🦈💦 Grab your life vest, hold onto your boat, and let’s find out why JAWS still reigns as the king of summer scares 🏊‍♂️🦈🚣🏻🏖️😱

JAWS (1975) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

Comments

“Fun Fact”: The actress in the opening scene actually had her ribs broken in the harness and no one realized. Her screams were real, so they left them in the film. 🥴 Poor girl.

Sky

Omg you guys have to react to 47 Meters Down and the sequel 47MD: Uncaged 🦈 Uncaged is my favorite tho 🤣

Olivia

my friend our "wokeness" is never going to change so you don't have to point out every time you don't like it lol ❤️ I think a lot of our humor goes over your head because you're taking us too literally...just enjoy the ride!

Petty Pumpkins

Thank you so much for watching this. My top 5. Id love to see you watch Rosemarys Baby!!!. So ....all in all Great reaction however wanting the shark to eat a kid over a dog... Extremely disturbing. Like I said the woakeness is a bit much for me but at the same time I love you guys I love your reactions always have a lot of fun and you get me through some of the most boring nights of my life. I can't wait to see your reaction to the sequel.

Jeremy Montanez

Bears are gonna bear = sharks are gonna shark

Jennifer Colstad

Chey saying "stay out of water, it's their land" is so unexpectedly funny.

Whitney Miller

Deep Blue Sea is a good shark movie. I think y’all would like it

Kait

we are this month 💖

Petty Pumpkins

would love to see yall react to at least the second one!

Amanda Caroline

Jaws was the 1st blockbuster movie and the first movie to make more than 100 million at the box office. Jaws 2 is pretty good. Jaws 3-D was a good idea badly executed. It's also the biggest shark in the series at 35 feet. Jaws The Revenge is pretty bad but still a fun film. It also had 2 different endings. I prefer the end in the theatrical version. People didn't like the ending so it was reshot for video release. Jaws' success spawned other studio to try and cash in with films like Orca, Tentacles, Pirahna, Barracuda to name a few. Grizzly is basicly Jaws but with a giant bear. Alligator is a good one about a 35 foot mutated alligator in a city sewer.

Steven Jump

Sand Sharks, Ice Sharks and Avalanche Sharks are pure crap! As are most of those cheap ass shark rip-offs made in the last 20 years or so. The Meg and Meg 2 are good f/x wise stories are ok.

Steven Jump

20:50 go back and listen to what turtleneck says. She doesn't want the beach closed. She has a motel. She wants the beach to remain open. They all do, that's their $$$.

Jess Here

I personally didn't like the book. But if you want to check it out without buying it, multiple YouTube channels have it uploaded as audiobooks. I listened to it while driving on a trip. You guys should definitely watch the others. Jaws fans will watch all of them, even the one that they hate. I thought Quint's story was awful when I heard it as a kid (8) but then I found out it was a true story in my teens. That made it even worse. I think including it in the movie has turned into a good remembrance.

Jess Here

jaws 2 is good

Bret Alleman

Its super fun watching you guys react to these classic films <3

Daddies! The book is good and has two plot lines that are not in the movie but are SCANDALOUS!!!! I watch this every summer usually around this time of year - I'm glad I will you two fir company! I swear my dad's spirit animal is Richard Dreyfus - but as I have gotten older I realized he encompassed some trait or characteristic of each of our leading men on this movie

Danielle Rickard

A classic! This movie still scares me today. I live on the Gulf Coast and work as a voyage data recorder. I'm part of a reef monitoring dive team. The Chrissie scene is wild and has stuck with me since I was a child. It's dramatic but the pulling down with her foot is absolutely a thing- a test bite to see what the prey item is or how it reacts. Swimming that far out at night is wild- but hey she was feeling herself so I get it. There have been some attacks that were as dramatic as hers as well as the boy on the float where the sharks sort of- play with their food. That being said, attacks like that are very rare and sharks are largely misunderstood. This movie certainly aided in the fearmongering around sharks. They still give me pause while in the water but they're mostly curious. Safety is always important (don't swim or dive alone, be aware of your surroundings, be aware of where you are in general) the most dangerous shark is the one you do not see, so be vigilant!

Vladimir Woodchester

Jaws 2 is a fun movie- it's kind of like a slasher movie with a shark instead of Jason or Michael Meyers. Lots of expendable, attractive teenagers, a higher body count, and Brody is back to (of course) save the day. I think you'd both LOVE the Indiana Jones movies (at least the first 3)- directed by Steven Spielberg, peak Harrison Ford hotness, and epic adventures to the tune of another iconic John Williams score.

ScientificallyStupidJess

Definitely should check out Deep Blue Sea!! Amazing shark film and my personal favorite. It also stars our hottie Thomas Jane lol

Justin Marchant

I actually really enjoyed Jaws 2, obviously it's not as great as this was, but it's still fun and of course you still have Brody. The rest of the sequels are... pretty bad bad. As far as other recommendations I'd vote for Piranha 3D, it's one of my favorite movies and it's super fun

Katja Youngblood

Okay, y'all need to watch Crawl for Hurricane Season

Brian - DocHikes

Quint's story about the USS Indianapolis is both chilling and an example of top quality acting.

Marc Harley

Please don't bother reacting to any of the Jaws sequels. They're all bloody awful !

Marc Harley

The first three Indiana Jones movies were directed by Steven Spielberg so if you were thinking about that franchise and more Spielberg that would be the way to go. Action isn't my favorite genre, but those movies are good! Also you should definitely check out ET if you haven't already seen it. Amazing film.

Lavender Violet

The first shark attack still gets me anxious. It’s not the attack itself, it’s the being dragged under water. The actress’s reaction felt so real. I love that you mentioned “Three’s Company”! I was talking to a coworker about an episode earlier. The animatronic shark’s name is Bruce.

Tara M. Wilcoxon

I watched the reaction to Sleepaway Camp when I got home from work. I told myself I would save Jaws so I had something to watch tomorrow night..... and now here I am a few hours later watching Jaws. 🤷‍♀️ I'm excited though because I, too, have never seen this classic film.

Lavender Violet

So excited for this watched this 2 weeks ago ( my husband never saw it until then) so excited to see your reaction to this classic

Maghen Connolly

I believe the live shark footage was when it was rolling around on top of the cage. 1. Peter Benchleys The Beast 2. Creature 3. Sand Sharks 4. Ice Sharks 5. Avalanche Sharks 6. Meg 1 and 2. Just a few suggestions 😊😊

Sueanne Jones

I absolutely loved this. You 2 are just amazing, it's like watching it with 2 friends. please react to the rest of them I wld love it. they are all great imo. 😊😊

Sueanne Jones

I think we’re going to get the book! 👀 and yes actually a bigger pumpkin patch is in order! 🤪🎃☕️

Petty Pumpkins

This film scared people out of FRESH water lakes, swimming pools, baths...I haven't watched this in a bit and it was great watching it with you both. This is not Speilbergs first film, that is DUEL, which you really should check out.

Richard LaMance

Fun but terrible is right up our alley 🤣

Petty Pumpkins

We actually have Titanic in the $15 tier right now! Not sure when it will hit YouTube (a while) but we actually love these recs and they’re already on our list!

Petty Pumpkins

Oooo!! Pour one out for us! 🍷

Petty Pumpkins

That’s actually outrageous!! 💀

Petty Pumpkins

Ohhh my god!! How WILD! We’re so sorry to be included in that trauma 🤣😭 Maybe sharks are actually good omens 😅😅😅

Petty Pumpkins

y'all...last night I had a shark nightmare for the first time in YEARS...woke up at 4 am for work, feeling a bit unsettled by the nightmares...then I come on patreon to see if yall have something for me to watch while I get ready and it's this damn movie 😭😭😭

Kyrsha Allen

The most disturbing thing about Jaws (and the most authentic American thing) is the stupid ass mayor is STILL the mayor in the second movie.

Megan Koler

I might have to celebrate this reaction with some red wine tonight! Can't wait to watch!

Tara M. Wilcoxon

Titanic Jurassic park The color purple (the original) Hook there's more but that's what I got right now

Love10 ❤️

i actually have seen this movie before!

Petty Pumpkins

Wes PLEASE Check Out Richard Dreyfuss in Mr. Holland's Opus I ADORE THIS FILM :-)

Emily Carmen

Oh AND The Sugarland Express was the very first film Spielberg did AND he had John Williams do the music. It is on Netflix in case yall want to check it out :-)

Emily Carmen

Definitely watch the sequels, the 2nd is good and the rest are fun but terrible.

X Jae ⚧️

I recommend the John Williams Documentary for anyone that loves film composers. I am a film composer and songwriter and I really enjoyed the documentary. There is a whole part about Spielberg and hiw he was super bummed out about the JAWS theme when John Williams played it for him. It is quite funny actually because he was at first feeling like he mad a mistake hiring John. Hahahahahahahahahaha it makes me laugh knowing the full story. But anyways I do recommend it it is called Music by John Williams

Emily Carmen

Georgie 😂

Two French Bears React

I would love this!

DC

My favorite movie!

Selina

"You're gonna need a bigger pumpkin patch." I have said hundreds of times, but this is in my top 2 favorite movies. Number 1 being Halloween (1978). The book and the movie do have their differences. Chrissy's death is very horrific in the book. I definitely recommend reading the book by Peter Benchley, who has a cameo in the movie as the news reporter on the beach.

Joshua Scott

Also, fun fact, the actors that played Hooper and Quint absolutely hated each other on set. Which is why it probably seems very tense with both of them at all times!

SoraCanada

This was my dad's FAVORITE movie, I also love this movie a lot, but it definitely made me stay out of water forever 😂

SoraCanada

The thing that upsets me about this movie which you guys already tapped on is the shark is just being a shark. Like Hooper said, if there weren't people in the ocean he would move on because he wouldn't be getting fed. I blame the dumb ass Mayor the all the deaths in this movie, including the shark.

Whitney Miller

What's truly horrific about Quint's speech about the USS Indianapolis is that it's absolutely a true story. Obviously Quint is a fictional character but his accounting of the horror those men must have went through is gut wrenching. Just bobbing in the water waiting to see if the sharks pick you next.

Repomanda22

OMG This is favorite movie ever! So happy you guys liked it ❤️❤️❤️

Ratty Lou

I’d love to do more Spielberg. Indiana Jones, Close Encounters, ET, Saving Private Ryan, Hook and I’ve been thinking of an underrated Spielberg movie lately The Post where Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks fight for freedom of the Press.

Jonathan

Jaws 2 is worth watching after that it gets bad. Fun Trivia. The lady who played the mother of the kid that dies went into a restaurant on a trip and it had the Alex Kitner Sharkbait Sandwich. She made a comment to the guy taking the order and it turned out to be the guy who played her kid. Most of the cast of this movie were locals where they filmed.

Jonathan

Omg you guys gotta react to deep blue sea now

Jordan Gaddis

I already commented but you were discussing candy and sweet shops so it made me think of the musical CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and I'd love to see you react to it. More musicals, please. CHITTY, MARY POPPINS, SWEENEY TODD, SOUND OF MUSIC, HELLO, DOLLY, etc. <3

Whitney Miller

Loved this reaction. I love Jaws, and I love Spielberg. Here is a list of much-watch Spielberg movies. I asterisked my favorites. ET *THE COLOR PURPLE *POLTERGEIST *HOOK **JURASSIC PARK ******SCHINDLER'S LIST****** CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and of course INDIANA JONES.

Whitney Miller

I was only 3 when this movie came out, but the iconic movie poster seared itself into my brain. It was years and years later until I found the courage to watch it. Every time I see the mayor, I automatically hear "I'll get up in the morning and I'll still be singing my song."

Chad Moore

The Indiana jones movies would 10000% be worth a watch. They're my favorite speilberg movies.

Kyle Moore

Would love for you guys to watch "Deep Blue Sea" Great cast, and a fun little twist to the shark thing. Great reaction as always!! 🧡

Allen Benedict

Also your Vanessa hudgens reference had me cackling 🤣

Chloe

Great. She’s called Chrissy 🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

Chrissy

I’m so excited to watch this! Everything has been making me so depressed and pissed off so I needed this pick me up 😭💖 you should definitely watch Jaws 2, I remember it being a lot more brutal than the first lol. And the 4th does suck imo!

Chloe

There's a shark and there's a boat what more do you need too know! Cheys pearls of wisdom are always true!

Lizzie

FIRST WATCH?! Omg I’m so excited!

MagzTheRose

Yes thank you I needed cheering up! ❤️

Lizzie

So excited to watch you guys react to Jaws for the first time ❤️😃
