This is the episode I will remember the most. It tore me in all kinds of ways. I put off spoilers and didn't watch this episode for DAYS because I didn't want to say goodbye to characters I had grown to love. The anxiety you mention, it is so real when watching this. To the point that I would highly recommend at least re-watching this episode, because it's worth a re-watch without being afraid of who is alive and dead as it's all going down. But then, at the end of the episode, I felt so torn. I had prepared to lose quite a few of the main characters. Like how could we not? Did you see the size of this un-dead army of Night Walkers and giants and a dragon of their own?!?! Oh, and he can just raise all the dead you just killed, so in effect, you will fight this until you die and become one of them. Like those odds are ridiculous. And yet so many characters lived!?!? How did they survive that? So many of them looked surrounded and certainly about to die? It felt like the writers took an easy way out and didn't kill off many of the main characters. Maybe they weren't ready to say good-bye either. So, I used this analogy--this episode is knowing the reality that you should have a nutritious meal for dinner (against these odds, many of these characters should have died), but damn, did that Whataburger with large fries and drink taste soooooo gooooood (meaning, I'm not sad I still get to see these characters). Hope that made sense.

The fact that so many people hated that Arya was the one to finally kill the Night King always confused me so much, because she honestly makes the MOST sense out of everyone to have done it! Jon Snow is a master swordsman, but the Night King isn't ever going to let him actually 1v1 him! Because why would he?! He can just raise undead armies to fight for him. So, Arya ambushing him like the master assassin that she is, felt perfect to me!
