HANNIBAL (3x4-3x6) *REACTION* FIRST TIME WATCHING!

“if i saw you every day, forever, will, i would remember this time” is one of the most romantic things ever said. don’t even get me started on “you and i have begun to blur”. the picture hannibal was sketching in episode 6 was of abigail and will

Just fyi... The affectation/way of speaking by the actor playing Mason Verger in s3 of the show is based Gary Oldman's portrayal of Verger in the movie Hannibal

That one piece of white truffle Hannibal is shown smelling? It would run you around 4,000 US dollars in today’s market, imported directly from Italy. Which is the only place that particular truffle is found in the entire world. No wonder he kills and eats people. Everything else is so expensive he can’t afford to buy the meat. 😂

I don't know the entire reasoning behind Margot and Alana becoming a couple, but I did read/see (can't remember which, it's been awhile) an interview where Caroline Dhavernas (Alana) recalled telling Bryan Fuller that she volunteered, after he casually mentioned that he needed to find a love interest for Margot in Season 3. The implication was that that planted the idea in the show runners head for the plot. Bryan Fuller has since said that Alana was bisexual, but it was never explicitly stated in the show itself. In the same way that he has said that Hannibal was pansexual. This episode was written by Fuller and Don Mancini- both gay men. Obviously I don't know anything for sure because I wasn't there (sadly for me), and maybe I'm being naive, but I really don't think that Bryan Fuller or Don Mancini could really be accused of promoting a hetero cis male anything. I'm really not trying to be combative- just throwing in my perspective, which may not be right- just mine. 😃 The most important thing is that I'm so glad that you are enjoying the show. It's a wild ride for sure, but nothing will ever top it for me.

I hate Mason too. He was actually played by two different actors. Michael Pitt in Season 2 and Joe Anderson in Season 3. I don't know why Pitt chose to play him that way, but my guess would be that Anderson was pretty much stuck with that version of Mason when he took over the role in Season 3.

This is a first time watch for me and this show is soooo bananas but really fun to watch with y’all 😂. Edit prelude: I was wrong about this--the creators were gay and I got triggered....original: Tbh I was rubbed the wrong way with the sapphic sex scene…using the mirror image/kaleidoscope makes perfect sense for Will and Hannibal bc it’s been THE running theme, but what did Alana and horse girl have in common? *Why* would they merge into one being on a psychological level? If there is a reason, they’ve had so few teeny tiny interactions it’s flimsy. Gay sex means you’re having the transcendent experience of having sex with your own body? They don’t really have anything in common other than being thin brunettes w long hair. Bone structure, personality, arcs, motivations are different…and am I missing something or did that not at all need to happen? idk maybe I missed something, but it smelled of hetero cis male gender essentialism + cursed lesbian fetish to me. Also yes, pig guy sounds like the Grinch and it’s sooo distracting 😝.

Back in season 2, when "Yakimono" originally aired, Bryan Fuller made a point to cryptically tweet that Serpico survived getting shot in the face. I don't think they had even planned much of season 3 yet, but he wanted to be sure we knew that a trifling bullet to the face didn't mean we would never see Chilton again.

I am so glad they commented on Mason feeling like he is in another show cause watching in real time when it aired and through this rewatch every time he is on screen I tune out cause the pacing just halts. Not sure if it was the actor's choice to portray him this way or if it was directional or a combination but the Verger plot is the most forgettable imo for how much screen time is allocated to it across S2-3

Ok, but why is that scene between Will and Hannibal at the Uffizi Gallery the most romantic thing ever? 😩 I cannot handle the chemistry between Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy.... it's too much. Give a girl a break, guys.

⚡️Spoilers⚡️ Ep4: I love this ep, so underrated. Chilton's back baby! The cockroach / Kenny of the show, lol. Mason needs to go though. Will imagining his best possible world and it's helping Hannibal kill Jack. Will admitting he wanted to run away with Hannibal, if only. Glad Alana's still kicking, I love her this season. Will just hanging out where Hannibal gutted him with Abigail, like it's his favorite spot - he's long gone. Love Margot, glad she's thriving. Murder flirting, that's Will and Hannibal. RIP Bella, I'll miss her, she was the best part of Jack. The Verger mansion is actually the Biltmore Estate in NC, very fancy. Will taking a sailboat all the way to Italy, that's Hannibal levels of dramatic. Ep5: Don Mancini also wrote on S3 ep6 & 10. Yeah, Mason's gross, always has been. Bet Chiyoh's sick of talking about Hannibal with Will, Will deserved to get pushed off that train. Pazzi pizza. Hannibal's always so chipper, just living his best life killing everyone. It was Mads' idea for Hannibal to get his ass beat and not really fight back, I like to think it's because Hannibal was depressed about the idea of eating Will. Ep6: Love Bedelia, kicking Hannibal out of his own apartment. No one should take Mason seriously, he's an evil clown. Will has no reason to be mad at Bedelia except that she ran away with Hannibal like Will wanted to, and he's immediately catty with her about it. Will and his Irish goodbye, just ditching them to go look for Hannibal. Ew, Mason sucks - yes, he can die and should. Hannibal, waiting for Will to show up so he can look at him with heart eyes and talk poetically with him. Love Margot and Alana, even with the weird kaleidoscope sex scene, they both deserve it after how S2 treated them. Don't eat Will Hannibal, fuck's sake how hard is it not to eat the love of your life? I don't think he would've went through with it, he was definitely taking his time. The next ep is my 2nd favorite this season and ends the 1st half of the season, don't know if I can stop at this ep and wait for you to post the next eps or if I'll just watch it on my own... And I watched Digestivo and Wrath of the Lamb again, I love this show so much.
