HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION (2002) *REACTION* (MOVIE COMMENTARY)

Hate it or love it… HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION is the messiest house party in horror! πŸŽƒ
We embrace the chaos this movie thrives off of and the early 2000s energy is simply electric. Really, it's not Michael hiding under the mask, it's reality-TV gold. Contestants trapped in a house, watched by cameras, eliminated one by one… sound familiar? πŸ‘€ HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION is the most Big Brother-coded entry in the franchise and Michael.. he's just waiting to evict everyone... πŸ”ͺπŸšͺ

This Halloween The Big Brother of Horror, Michael Myers says β€œexpect the unexpected,” and honestly… Julie Chen would approved. πŸͺ“

Sometimes we have to do things we hate for those we love. I'm only re-watching this shitty movie for you.

Here it is. Two more movies to go, baby πŸŽƒ I always have a good time with this one. While the acting wasn't nearly as good as it was in H20 (I also didn't really connect with any of the characters TBH), it's still entertaining. Was the movie bad? Yes. Was it pointless to undo the flawless ending in Halloween H20? YES! Was it ahead of it's time? YES x10! There are things about this movie I really do enjoy. First of all - much prefer the lighting in this one. It's darker, creepier and I really do think they did well with the cinematography aswell. I also do appreciate Brad Loree's performance as Michael (the actor behind the mask). Unlike George Wilbur (H4/H6) and Chris Durand (H20), Loree studied Nick Castle's movements in the original movie. This version of Michael is way scarier than the one in H20. They way he kept swinging his arms in the previous movie always cracked me up. 🀭 I also liked the mask in Resurrection. Besides the dark 'n thin eyebrows, the mask is also creepy. Especially during those darker scenes against the blue lighting. You also mentioned you wish the movie had more kills (trust me, I do too), technically Michael does kill 10 people on-screen in Resurrection (11 if Tyra Banks' Nora character counts) and only six in H20. I also liked the kills better in Resurrection. Especially the impalement of Donna on the pipe, beheading of Jen, skull crushing of Jim and Rudy getting pinned on the door with 3 knives. I also loved the soundtrack and the main theme. The main theme in Resurrection maybe my favorite main theme out of all the movies with the original, 2018, Kills and Ends. Also really enjoyed the found-footage thingy. It was done very well. This movie for me is one of the easiest sequels to rewatch. I don't know why. Some of the other ones especially Halloween: The Curse of Michael (this movie is by far my least favorite out of all of them with the two Rob Zombie's movies). They are just SO jarring, weird and heavy for me, I honestly don't have a good time with them. I still appreciate them to be a part of the Halloween franchise! All the silliness and the bad writing's aside, Halloween: Resurrection will ALWAYS have a place in my little gay heart lol πŸŽƒπŸ«¦ Happy Halloween you guys!
