I'm thinking the mobs being killed in midair prevented their remains being probably reabsorbed into the swamp which could've provided the giant treant nutrients via it's roots and without those nutrients, it just woke up "hangry".

Someone at the guild must have known this was a rare boss monster unless it was just random when it snagged parties. Need find a new safe spot or stop just before this layer and speed run through it.

I mean, I easily could but how strong are the people there. This Captain, I was thinking he was in on it but now? I'm not so sure as one of his men just died.
