Changes to tiers and a few questions.
Added 2020-02-18 19:59:44 +0000 UTCHey everyone. I'll be doing a few changes. First, here's a quick tl;dr and then more details and questions follow.
tl;dr:
1) $1 tier will become $2 after a month or so
2) $5 and $10 tiers will have more rewards
So, more details and reasons for these two changes.
1) Learning more things about patreon, it appears a big chunk of the $1 pledge goes to patreon fees and its much more viable to make the lowest tier $2, unfortunately.
Of course current $1 patrons will get the rewards for this month as normal and will remain at $1 for now. I'll keep the $1 tier for maybe a month more so you have time to decide whether to stop your pledge or change to the $2 tier in the future.
Either way, thank you for your support so far and sorry for the inconvenience.
2) I feel like the higher tiers dont have enough rewards for the price so i'll be doing the following:
From now on, $5 tier will have the same rewards as the current $10 - PSD files in the reward pack.
$10 tier patrons will get an additional reward pack of their choice from one of the previous months.(PM me which reward pack you'd like and i will send it to you in the first week of the next month along with your normal reward pack. You can see the packs to choose from here: https://gumroad.com/kupocun )
One other, smaller change to mention here - from now on i'll resize the PSD files a bit (maybe down to around 2k) - i figure the usefulness of these is to see my process and layers - a huge, original resolution is not necessary for that and the file size will be much more convenient to download. (currently its 500-1000 MB per pack, after resizing it will be 5-10 times less) Though im open to reconsider, let me know if you think this is not a good change.
Now, a couple of questions.
Q1: I'm considering whether to post full resolution pictures for $5+ patrons right away or only include them in the reward pack at the end of the month.
PRO: not posting right away would prevent some pledge dodgers and the page would be cleaner with less double posts, essentially.
CON: you'd only get the full res at the end of the month, not immediately.
So let me know what you think. Is getting the full res immediately important to you or is only getting it in the reward pack at the end of the month fine?
Q2: I'm experimenting with recording my drawing process and considering adding such videos as rewards in the future, probably to one of the higher tiers.
Im just learning how to go about it and it does require some time do to so im wondering - are such videos something you guys would be interested in?

Yeah i think i've reconsidered and will keep the PSD's in original resolution. I figure since im gonna need paid cloud storage sooner or later anyway, even the cheapest options have enough space for full res PSD's. Im just probably going to have 2 separate links - one for just the artwork and one for the PSDs so people who dont care about PSD's dont need to download an extra ~1gb every month.

Most definitely, for me that and PSD are always the most valuable for me to learn from. Plus, it's just really interesting to watch really good artists do their thing Also, will there be any option to get the PSDs in full res? Personally I really like having them in giant overkill res because I can look into the finer details of each layer and it helps me understand what's happening on each layer better
2020-02-25 21:58:28 +0000 UTCQ1: Like everyone else said, I wouldn't mind. Lot of different artists also do that. Q2: Personally not looking to get intro drawing myself but for people who are interested, it is always welcome and some have shown interest already so, go for it. Just pleged this moment so I hope you don't mind my input. Been following your work for a while but decided to pledge now. Love your art and I look forward to see what else you got for us.

2020-02-19 03:28:03 +0000 UTCQ1: at the end of the month. Q2: yes, interested.
2020-02-18 23:31:11 +0000 UTCQ1: I think you should save the high resolution for the monthly pack, this is what most other artist do. Q2: I like the idea of seeing your process videos, but not as part of a monthly pack. It will kill your Dropbox bandwidth. Maybe consider sharing them as unlisted YouTube videos?
