Why do people quit drawing… and how did I not quit for 6 years?

I’m repeating the message I shared with you, and with myself, 6 years ago.
I hope this helps you continue drawing for a long time.

beautiful story. you're lucky you realized it at a young age. Love your perspective - you are a good teacher! thanks for sharing your journey with us!

"I like drawing but I'm not doing it"... This! This is super relateable to me. I get incredibly frustrated over not understanding things in art, not getting them right. Perfectionsim. I feel frustrated that I haven't started earlier in life. I am frustrated that I don't do enough. Yet, I keep trying. I still think about art every day. It must mean that I care, right?

Yes thx you

I majored in art, but I didn’t draw for more than 10 years afterward. I believe there’s always a chance to start something you love, no matter when. One of the reasons I love drawing is that you can do it easily, anytime you want. Doing your best is great, but I think continuing slowly and gently for a long time is just as important. I’ll be supporting your art journey! :)

This is in fact a very important message to stick with us on our journey. Life happens and sometimes the hype is high, and sometimes it will be low, however if you "truly like" to draw, even the small things you managed to sketch that "bad week" will be an amazing step when the hype comes back and you manage to give it your all. I always love your perspectives, Chommang. I wish I had followed an artistic degree, but hey... here I am nearly 40yo trying my best at being poor but trying to make something out of this passion. ♡
