You should check out the extended version it's really deep they cut those part out of the video

The original song written by RM was actually supposed to be “I need you friend”, but they changed it to “girl” so that people can relate to it better. By now, you’ve probably realized that most BTS songs are much deeper than just being about a certain girl or love. As people already mentioned, definitely check out the original mv rather than this one!💜
