Hi fellow Wizards!
This is the second tutorial of the day, and it's about painting a Blue Chaos Shield, Silver NMM and Red OSL! It is a complex tutorial that I tried to simplify a lot as I myself like to paint in the most effective ways. Let's get into it!
1. Over a black basecoat, spray with white, adding the color from the top left (from our point of view). You can add it through a spray can or through an airbrush.

2. Glaze with Scale 75 Adriatic Blue all over the shield. This can also be added through an airbrush.

3. Add a highlight with white. Only add it to two brightest points, on the top and on the bottom of the blue highlights.

4. Now onto painting the Silver NMM. Start with basecoating the whole metal area with black.

5. Glaze with a 4:1 mix of White and Black. Only add this in areas that make sense if we consider the placement of the highlights on the blue. In this case you want to create maximal contrast but without compromising the logic of the light placement. If you need help with the light placement, you can have a look at the first picture and see, how the highlights spread along the metal parts. You can also have a look at the shield you are painting just after adding the zenithal (from the top) higlight.

6. Glaze and edge highlight with white. Use the same logic for the placement of the highlights, as in the previous steps, with the only difference being that this highlight should be smaller than the last one.

7. Now onto the most fun part - OSL! Start with basecoating the area with white.

8. Add Wild Rider Red all over the OSL area.

9. Add a glaze of Troll Slayer Orange. Make this highlight smaller than the previous color to achieve a smooth transition between the colors. Edge highlight the runes with a 1:1 mix of Troll Slayer Orange and Ivory from AK Interactive. Now some people might say that the insides of the runes have to be the brightest, but in this case I wanted to show that they are empty inside and only the outer edges of the runes are creating the OSL.

And that is all!
Hope to see you try these recipes and steps. Please share your work with me using the #MamikonsWizards hashtag on social media. You can also tag me so I can have a look ๐
