Hi all!
Today we are going to have a look at painting Salamanders and and stron OSL.
I have uploaded a PDF tutorial about this before but many people also asked to create a video version of it. Your wish is my command!
Paints used:
1) Caliban Green for basecoating
2) Yriel Yellow for highlights
3) Ivory / Pallid Wych Flesh for highlights
4) Abaddon Black for outlining the shadows
5) Leadbelcher for metal parts
6) Mephiston Red for the OSL basecoat
7) Orange from Hera Models / Troll Slayer Orange for the OSL
I really hope you like this one. Please share the results with me when you try it out. You can do it by tagging me in your posts on social media or by using the #MamikonsWizards hashtag. Alternatively you can also join the Necromancers tier here on Patreon and gain access to my Discord Server where you can show your work, ask questions and receive feedback.
Cheers

2025-05-26 22:03:16 +0000 UTCHey man thank you for this simple OSL video, I am just trying to rack my brain on the process of how I will do my batch painting with everything. I have my Salamanders Primed and white zenitholed. I applied gloss varnish, I will then do an oil wash, then recoat in matt varnish to paint again. Then I will do the caliban green letting the undercoat do the work for highlights, go over it with the Yellow mix to further emphasise the highlights. Then after the army is done with that, I plan to make all the respective lava bases first so that I can have a point of reference for the OSL for each model, then do the process you just showed with the two colors. After all thats done then go in for edge highlighting. Would you say this breakdown is a good approach? Am I missing something?
