Speedpainting: Gold/Yellow armor

Hi fellow Wizards and Necromancers!

In today’s video we are going to speedpaint some gold/yellow armor using an airbrush. I have created this simple recipe to help people achieve good results in a very short period of time. If you would like to a use a more thorough technique to paint NMM Gold and Yellow, I have plenty of tutorials already available about those topics :) Here are the paints used in this tutotrial:

1) Black Spray from Games Workshop as a basecoat.

2) White (I've used AK Interactive White) for the initial highlight.

3) Iyanden Yellow for the glaze.

4) Mournfang Brown for the warm undertone.

I really hope you like it! Please share the results with me when you try it out. You can do it by tagging me in your posts on social media or by using the #MamikonsWizards hashtag. Alternatively you can also join the Necromancers tier here on Patreon and gain access to my Discord Server where you can show your work, ask questions and receive feedback.

Cheers,

Mamikon

0.3. I use this super cheap airbrush :) Fengda Professional Airbrush Spray Gun 130, Set with Nozzle 0,3 mm https://amzn.eu/d/dOu13bX

What size needle in your airbrush and psi?

Praxxis

To be honest I am not a pro at airbrushing nor do I understand much about them. I just got a very cheap airbrush from Amazon and it works fine :) I’ll be happy to do a video about my tools in the future too ☺️

Mike

Sorry for the stupid question but what to look for when choosing an airbrush? Are there any elements or effects for which it is better to use an airbrush than a normal brush? Maybe someday you'll do a mini tutorial on this topic? ;) Thanks for what you do!

Szymon Czajka

I wouldn’t say so as it’s a completely different tool :) You can start working with it now ☺️

Mike

I've been painting figures for about 6 months. I often see people using airbrush and what amazing results they get with it. In your opinion, is there a certain amount of time I should spend on brush painting (e.g. 1-2 years) before I try airbrushing?
