Grimdark Blood Angels: #BeautifulSpeedPainting

Hi fellow Wizards and Necromancers! Hope you are having a great summer. In the second tutorial of this week, I will show you how to speed paint Grimdark Blood Angels. With this technique, you can achieve beautiful Blood Angels in a very short period of time - under 60 minutes if you are using helmets on your miniatures.

If you would like to speed paint faces as well, here is my tutorial about it:

7. Stormhost Silver for the Chipping

8. Gold from AK Interactive for the gold parts

9. Seraphim Sepia Shade for the shading on the gold

10. Abaddon Black for the black parts

With this tutorial, I'm launching a new hashtag: #BeautifulSpeedPainting

What it means: I am aiming at creating a multitude of tutorials that allow you to achieve amazing results in a very, very short timeframe. I encourage you to use this hashtag on your social media too, to promote the idea of painting well in a short period of time. It doesn't always have to take hours and hours to paint nice looking minis after all!

Thank you very much for supporting me – it means the world to me! I dream of being able to paint and make tutorials full time, so if you like my Patreon – please tell your friends about it. It would make a massive difference to me and hopefully it will be beneficial for your friends too :)

*Layer consistently = paint mixed in a 1:1 ratio with water.

*Glaze consistently = paint mixed in a 1:3 ratio with water.

Best wishes,

Mamikon

You can use the same paints but then use a Matt varnish on top of it to seal it a bit better

Hey, thank for video) Unfortunately, I only prime with an airbrush. Which primer would be suitable for this? Will any white one work?

Nightcall

Hello! Sorry for the later response! I was away. I am not sure to be honest as I have not done that before. But I would assume so yes.

Mike

Hi man, I came back to this amazing tutorial for my Flesh Tearers army and was wondering if it would be possible to apply some matte varnish after the inital red base before the wash step ir order to avoid whiping out the paint when you apply the thiner?

Hallek

Hey Rhuari. It’s hard to say as I haven’t used the contrast paint for Ultramarines but I will do some testing in the upcoming days and let you know πŸ™‚

Mike

Hey Mamikon, can I ask what blues you’d use if you were to do this for ultramarines? I find the ultramarine contrast paint is awful in comparison to blood angels so curious what you’d go for ?

Rhuari Binning

Thank you so much for the kind words! I really can’t be happier when I read stuff like this. Thank you!

Mike

Your Patreon for me has really been a pleasant and surprising discovery. Thank you very much for your contribution, greetings from SPAIN πŸ‘πŸΌ
