Tyranids + Sponge = Revolutionary Technique
Added 2023-09-30 08:01:51 +0000 UTCHi, my dear friends!
In this week's video tutorial, I will show you a revolutionary technique of doing stippling with a sponge.
Here is the list of paints used:
1) Black (Abaddon Black in this case but you can use any black you like) for the basecoat.
2) Pink Horror for the initial highlights on the membranes.
3) Screamer Pink for the warmer tones on the membranes.
4) Salmon from AK Interactive for the highlights.
5) Ivory from AK Interactive for the highlights.
6) Evil Sunz Scarlet for the edge highlights on the talons.
7) Troll Slayer for the edge highlights on the talons.
Thank you very much for supporting me – it means the world to me! I dream of being able to paint and make tutorials full time, so if you like my Patreon – please tell your friends about it. It would make a massive difference to me and hopefully it will be beneficial for your friends too :)
*Layer consistently = paint mixed in a 1:1 ratio with water.
*Glaze consistently = paint mixed in a 1:3 ratio with water.
Best wishes,

I have some question about the other side of the wing. Do you use the same shading pattern on the other side of the wing since it isn't supposed to be oriented to light does it work with the same pattern or maybe it's an other one with darker color? I don't know if what i ask is clear. Thank you.

2025-01-19 02:51:18 +0000 UTCI’d say you can make them red. This will contrast nicely with the overall dark tones of that painting scheme. So you can start with a black basecoat, and then you build brighter and brighter highlights with Mephiston red, evil Sunz scarlet and troll slayer orange.
