Squig: sponge stippling and green Glowing Eye

Hi, legendary Wizards of Mamikon's Patreon! HAPPY ORKTOBER!

In this week's video tutorial, I will show you how to speed paint red Squig skin with the sponge stippling technique and to make it more spooky, as it's the Halloween month too, we will paint the green glowy eye of the Squig too!

Here is the list of paints used:

1) Abaddon Black for the basecoat and shading.

2) Evil Sunz Scarlet for the first coat of sponge stippling.

3) Troll Slayer Orange for the second coat of sponge stippling.

4) Fire Dragon Bright for the third coat of sponge stippling.

5) Ushabti Bone for the fourth coat of sponge stippling.

6) Ivory (from AK Interactive) for the fifth coat of sponge stippling.

7) Titanium White (from AK Interactive) for the basecoat of the eye and the creases around it.

8) White for the basecoat of the area covered by the light shining from the eye and for the highlights on the eye.

9) Striking Scorpion Green for the green glow.

10) Warpstone Glow for the shading on the green glow.

11) Caliban Green for the further shading on the green glow.

Thank you very much for supporting me – it means the world to me! I dream of being able to paint and make tutorials full time, so if you like my Patreon – please tell your friends about it. It would make a massive difference to me and hopefully it will be beneficial for your friends too :)

*Layer consistently = paint mixed in a 1:1 ratio with water.

*Glaze consistently = paint mixed in a 1:3 ratio with water.

Best wishes,

Mamikon

There will be more Ork stuff for sure but I’m not sure if it will be exactly gloomspite stuff. Well, this tutorial will be accompanied by a second one where we finish this squig, so I can promise at least one more for sure!

Mike

Will there be more gloomspite stuff coming up?
