Evermore- Taylor Swift Album Reaction

Let me know if there are any issues with the link! We’re starting off with VERY humble beginnings so I’m sorry if the quality is horrible, lol.

Also, there were a couple things that I either forgot to mention, or I noticed after filming:

- “Tis the Damn Season” gives “August” vibes.

- “No Body, No Crime” mentions “tires” and “a bed”…not sure if they’re actually connected, just an observation.

- If there’s validity to the points I just made, I would assume that “Tis the Damn Season” is about an adulterous relationship from the perspective of the “other woman”

I’m late to this but I’m a new patron. LOVE your reactions and commentary on this. Regarding “closure” - that song really resonated with me following my breakup a couple years ago. I feel like when she is saying “I don’t need your closure” she is saying “I don’t need *your version* of closure. You think this letter is giving me closure? It’s giving you closure, I already found mine. Just stay the F out of my life.” Because we truly do all find closure in various ways and I’ve found ways to find closure from my breakup without involving the ex at all, and if he wrote me a letter at this point, this song is the only way I could think to respond. 😅

Yes! Also two things I like about No body, no crime: 1) the way she just put the "Should've said no" guitar in the beginning, as if she wanted to say: "honey it would have been so easy not letting any of this happen, you just should have said no" 2) the way you can hear her smile while singing that "but she just can't prove it" in the end, just like: "yeah, guess what? Two can play this game!" It fits the storyline perfectly 😂

So it's not an ongoing relationship but she misses him and wonders what the road not taken would have been like with someone who is the only one who sees her for who she is 🤔

If you love true crime, watch one of Taylors era tours acoustic mashup of no body no crime and Carolina! She deemed it the murder mashup

Great reaction! You catch onto things so quickly! Going forward it would be awesome if you just continue backwards through Taylors albums since you have listened to the most recent 4. Lover would be next, when you do listen to it make sure to also listen to 'All the Girls You Loved Before', it didnt make the album, so you will just have to search it individually, but Taylor released it a year or 2 ago and (in my opinion) one of the top songs from that era. When you get to Rep you should definately watch the Reputation Stadium Tour after listening to the album, its so 🔥

Marjorie was my top song of Taylor's until The Prophecy, I just about fell off of my chair when she sang it in Eras. It is super underrated and a lot of people felt like it was 'wasted space' but she sings that song in honor of her grandmother to almost a hundred thousand people every night and I will never get over it ever ever ever. There's a perspective in the Eras movie where she's walking toward the camera with the entire stadium behind her looking wistful and to me that's her way of saying 'grandma, you sang to these people,' and yeah I'm a wreck about it again! Others have said this but to me that 'you're trying to smooth me over' line in Closure is the exact reason why it's so chaotic. Fuck you for trying to settle me down, fuck you for thinking time will heal it, it will NEVER stop being chaos, and I'm FINE with that.

So happy to see you on Patreon and seeing this! I tend to leave long comments with extra info and sometimes edit it in if I hit enter too soon, hopefully that's not annoying <3 For Willow, there's a YT video about how good the song is but the site's search function is making it hard for me to find again! It talks about the production and lyrics and mentions there are a whole lot of alternate versions that you might find interesting (including a '90's trend' version)! Gold Rush is one of my favorites, it's totally underrated for Swifties I think--Fully agree with all of what you're saying! I think where Taylor grew up in PA the Eagles were the 'local' NFL team (unlike where I am, the Steelers are), so that's less of a 'team pick' than local inertia. As for 'gold rush' itself, the whole historical chaos trying to get all of the gold mined up particularly *before* everyone else does, before everyone else can get rich, it's interesting in terms of how handsome and talented she thought of Joe being, and he hadn't really 'taken off' as a celebrity yet. To me that song was a reflection on how it felt when she first wanted to date him, how she could picture everything going so well and she wanted that--but she wasn't sure she wanted the anxiety of competition BUT I do think it could very much be applicable to wanting someone she never had, too. HIGH FIVE from a fellow James anti, lmao! Love Tolerate It too, thank you for your appreciationnnn. Re: NBNC I swear to God I am convinced Taylor, with this and the TTPD stuff I give up, I am ready for Debut and lets GOOOO you and Bey and Lil Nas X let's just bring mainstream radio country back, Taylor! Happiness is one of the few songs she hadn't played at Eras for a really long time (can't be sure she has yet), but a consistent theme for that relationship is that she thinks he's a really good person (The Great War and Happiness really push that for me). Gonna hit enter and eat lunch and post more after! Love the reaction!

You HAVE to watch and react to reputation stadium tour, but AFTER listening to the album first

closure is a weird song but i’ve heard people say that it’s because closure is a messy thing so she made the production messy on purpose? don’t know if there’s truth to that but i can see it for sure

halle

omg please do 1989 it’s such a different vibe but i feel like you’d LOVE IT

halle

Yesss! Loved your reaction. I love the line in No Body No Crime about the mistress taking out the life insurance policy, because that looks like a motive for HER to have killed the husband!
