I’ve probably heard this song at least 20-30 times and I still couldn’t keep it together past the second verse. And I don’t even have kids. I can’t imagine how a parent can possibly survive listening to this song. Anyway, even though it’s a tough listen, it’s definitely a rite of passage for anyone working their way through Taylor’s discography, and I’m so glad people are sharing Ronan and Maya’s story with you in the comments. As always, another great reaction, Neecee!! 😊

2024-10-08 18:25:28 +0000 UTCRonan lyrics were based on his mother Maya’s blog (on tumblr I believe). I ugly cry just from the first few chords. The proceeds from the song, including streaming, still 100% benefit childhood cancer research so I can never skip it. Maya is credited as co-writer on the song. Taylor got permission from Maya to re-record for Taylor’s Version as well. Taylor played it live once for a cancer charity, she sobbed leaving the event (and MAGA has recently been using the pictures of her sobbing as false propaganda that made me sick). Taylor still keeps in touch with Maya, and you can find Maya on social media. She went to an Eras show last year ❤️

2024-10-05 18:41:11 +0000 UTCall too well ten min version is actually the og version, her label made her cut it down :/ fans had been begging for it for years so it was a big deal when it was released on redTV!! you should react to the two songs she did for the hunger games, safe and sound and eyes open!! they’re very different from each other but they’re both great. as for the next album to listen to, i vote reputation or 1989. reputation doesn’t have a taylor’s version yet, so there’s only 13 tracks. it could be a nice refresher after the heaviness and length of red. i adore 1989 (it’s in my top five) but it’s 100% pop ( which based on ‘message in a bottle’ and ‘the very first night’ aren’t your favorite. 1989 has a taylor’s version so there are vault tracks, and they’re amazing. speaking of which, the vault tracks are songs that she wrote at the same time as the original album, but cut due to various reasons. some they couldn’t get the production right on, some were cut in favor of other songs to keep the albums shorter, some were considered too… “personal” to release at the time (icsy 👀). now that she’s grown as an artist and has more control over what she can release, she’s able to put them out as a lil treat for us 🩷. i love your reactions and how quick you are to make connections between songs and albums, it’s fascination to watch. thank you for doing this even though you’re going through a hard time right now, i hope things start looking up soon!!

Thanks for this video, love you girl!
