An Update

Hello, all. In case you haven’t seen my Twitter, I’m not dead.

For the past 6 months or so, I’ve been really busy with work and some turmoil in my personal life. As a result, I’ve had some pretty bad writer’s block. Recently, things have started to look up, so I wanted to inform you guys on my tentative future plans.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been forced to change the original plans I had in mind for the JPS series and for Donkey Cakes.

I have never thought that I was a particularly good writer. I truly appreciate everyone’s kind words and encouragement, but I am my own harshest critic. I think I’ve finally identified one way in which I’m lacking. When I began writing, I just wanted to write down quick and dirty, kinky porn stories. But recently, I have felt a desire for something more. 

I feel like I am growing and evolving, as I want my writing skills to improve as well as change the kind of stories I write. Recently, I have been reading a lot of mainstream gay romance novels*, and it’s made me realize that what I want is not just filthy porn, but filthy porn with three-dimensionals characters, drama, and some fluffy romantic stuff as a cherry on top.

When I reread my stories, I realized that my characters had no depth. There was no plot, or intrigue. It was just porn. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with just porn, but I wondered if I could write porn that would touch my dick AND my heart. I’ve read some stories like that, and it was an unexpected surprise and awakened a desire in me to write.

With that in mind, I’ve decided to reboot the Luke Micucci JPS Saga. I am approaching it differently, as it will be more plot-based, I am outlining extensively. In the past, I’ve hardly outlined or planned what I was going to write. I liked the spontaneity, but it made it so the story didn’t have much cohesion. I have the reboot outlined, it will be about 10 chapters. A good 4 of those are going to be updated/rewritten versions of already existing chapters, while the rest will be brand new.  I’ve drafted the very first chapter already, but it will need extensive editing. I don’t want to post anything until I’m fully satisfied with what I’ve written, and I also want to have some buffer in place (maybe 2-3 chapters) so there could be a sort of regular schedule.

After the Luke JPS Saga is done, I’m going to move onto another series that, while still kinky and filthy and hot, is going to lean a lot more into the romance/emotional side of things. As I’m only in the very early stages of planning, I don’t have anything concrete, but I suspect there will be chapters with no sex scenes, just plot/character development. I am not sure if I will charge for those, since I feel like I owe my supporters hot and filthy sex, not sweet romance, but I will cross that bridge when it comes to it.

As for my other stories, Donkey Cakes is pretty much over. There is a lot of baggage in that series and I don’t feel like I can continue it, as much as I want to. Idol Boys may also get the reboot treatment, but if it does it will be in the far future (after I’ve written the next series after the Luke JPS Saga) I have a particular attachment to the characters from Idol Boys, but I have no plot, so I need to come up with a compelling plot for it first.

I’m someone who doesn’t like to break promises, and I feel like even though I’ve never commited to any kind of release schedule, going half a year with no new content is letting my supporters down. I hope you guys are understanding and again I truly appreciate the support and the patience as I work through things.
